But from the presentation -

>Diesel would have a capacity of 1.5L and would be the most fuel efficient in its class - but power / torque figures not disclosed.

>Petrol will be a revamped and updated version of the current 1.5L i-Vtec - No info on AT option ( thought its understood ) and revamped could mean - Better Power & Torque figures / Better efficiency / Better NVH or all the above

Re: Confirmed: 2014 Honda City to be unveiled in November 2013

This will surely sell due to the added tech, space and diesel motor but let's hope they don't price it much higher just because of a few added gizmos.

I for one am really dissappointed with this launch. The blue honda rendering with the couple standing alongside and a tree next to it looked much much better according to me. This car begs for bigger, thicker wheels, a less lazy design; the previous gen looked much better this one just took the same design and added a little here and there (always a big mistake) which makes it look less impacting and original. Oh and please don't tell me that those are the alloys that will be offered, they look BORING!

Lastly it is very shameful on Honda's part to steal the design of the authentics concept displayed in the summer by what is a less established manufacturer in the four wheeler space. This kind of unethical practice took place once already when they copied the look of the frankly boring Hyundai Sonata Embera. Wonder if Suzuki will spice up the YL1 to differentiate its lovely bum.

Re: Confirmed: 2014 Honda City to be unveiled in November 2013

It is a face-lift alright, but a very good one. It looks much more beautiful than the outgoing City. Hope they don't jack up the prices.

Interior design is good, but the materials look a bit downmarket (probably, the pics).

Weird alloys, though.

Re: Confirmed: 2014 Honda City to be unveiled in November 2013

Overall a great package. This should literally blow away the Verna and Elantra sales. I hope they price it properly on par with Verna instead of trying to pitch it in as a competitor to Elantra.

Everything will boil down to which features they would offer in lower variants and how they price them. Interiors are really refreshing and the new features are really welcome. I hope they give safety kit as standard across all variants.

With the increase in wheel base, I hope it doesn't turn out to be another Civic when it comes to the battles with Indian speed breakers.

Possibly an electromagnetic lock with a boot unlock button in the key.

Well, the smart key system has 3 buttons, so I am guessing we will have a remote boot release button on the key fob as well.

Face-lift? Its a All-new City, a new generation, which just looks similar to the out-going car. Like the Swift!

Alloys are better in the current car. Alloys and tyres are very disappointing!

Re: Confirmed: 2014 Honda City to be unveiled in November 2013

Aren't the interiors eerily similar to the new Toyota Corolla? Look at the air con vent's, then the big touch screen system under it and finally the air con control's. The entire design is so similar. I am attaching a picture of the interior's of the Corolla.

Re: Confirmed: 2014 Honda City to be unveiled in November 2013

Quick points from me -

> Pics on grey look smashing as volkman10 pointed out.

> Engine start/stop button, AC vents could have been a little better in design in my view on the interior front. Otherwise, it is super-blue-cool.

> Yes aravind.anand a.k.a Auto, tires and alloys are a spoilsport on the exteriors, I go with you.

Can't believe the outgoing and the just-unveiled cars having different underpinnings almost wore the same hat (correct me if I'm wrong about this.)

Re: Confirmed: 2014 Honda City to be unveiled in November 2013

Honda has worked on some of the lousy bits in the previous generation, the horrid silver central console , HU with old school fonts and the 80's style plasticky AC controls. Good to see ACC make an appearance, it was certainly a deal breaker on the old car, especially the top end models.

I am surprised that fixed rear headrests are still around, it is really uncomfortable for taller people on long trips, hope Honda adds it in the production version. The current V alloys and a diesel automatic, should make it an awesome replacement for the Fiesta. The new alloys look terrible.

Re: Confirmed: 2014 Honda City to be unveiled in November 2013

The first City with a diesel heart, it is a legend already! Perfect evolution of its predecessor. Also, finally gets auto climate control. Just hope it drives well too. Bank on Honda to heavily advertise it with the i-dtec. Also assuming the claimed diesel mileage to be around the 20-24kpl mark. A segment best.

A touch disappointing.

You know i felt the same way when i saw the actual car after i saw the sketch. The sketch makes the car look way more muscular and fluidic.
