Re: Mahindra to recall Scorpio EX variant

Can someone shed some more light onto what this pressure valve is?

Re: Mahindra to recall Scorpio EX variant

The Scorpio EX is the 75bhp M2Dicr engine taken from the Bolero M2Dicr (where it produces 63 bhp). My guess is to get the extra bhp from the same engine block, they had used a higher pressure valve different from the ones in the Bolero. It is this valve which may have had complains of going bust; and therefore the recall

Re: Mahindra to recall Scorpio EX variant

Looks like another recall is on the cards. Not sure if it is related to the earlier recalls. The news article talks of carrying out 'preventive inspections' to the vehicles without emphasising exactly what the parts covered under inspection and subsequent replacement, if any, are. More info in the link below.

Re: Mahindra to recall Scorpio EX variant

This appears a bit strange.
Same model being recalled for repairing/inspection, for the same part issue reported in less than an year.
Is any further information available on this apart from the news bit.

Re: Mahindra to recall Scorpio EX variant

In December 2013 too, 900 units of the EX variant of the Scorpio SUV were recalled for the replacement of their potentially faulty pressure valves (link to news article). What is interesting to note is that the previous recall was of cars manufactured between October 2013 and November 2013 and this time again, units manufactured within that period are being recalled.
