Had registered for a call when I checked out Datsun last time when it was displayed in EA, Chennai. Today a girl calls me up (from Nissan) and enquired whether I want to buy the car and said the launch will be in 2 days time. The moment I said I would not be interested, she was more interested in dropping the line. Sounded very sleepy and low on energy. Never bothered to check for the reason for NOT buying. I would have really liked to have someone with the zeal to close the call!

She didn't have any details as such, but mentioned the price as 4L ex showroom and said the exact prices will be available ONLY at the time of launch.

One observation or feel that i got when sitting in the backseat was that it is very compartmentalized thanks to that " pad" being present in the middle of the front 2 seats , its almost like sitting in a limo with those sliding windows which completely separate the front of the car from the back. This otherwise would have probably made the interiors a bit more roomy by creating space between the front 2 seats like we have in most cars.

I know the space was available given where the gear is but i think it could have been better utilized by making it into different sized storage spaces perhaps rather than this.

And manually adjusting seat-belts... really!!

A small correction there. The article mentions these prices as "on road Navi Mumbai" rather than ex-showroom as you posted. But thanks for the info. So we can assume that the base will cost around 2.99 Lacs and the top end 3.80 as reported by AutocarIndia website.

They are expecting to do around 8000 cars for the month.I feel it is over ambitious figure.But it may be anything around 3000-4000 units for the month.
