re: Buying a car through the CSD. EDIT: Revised criteria on page 21

Are the CSD prices much cheaper than the open market? Does anyone have a comparison of the ex-showroom prices of at least 3-4 vehicles?
Though I am entitled, I have not done the research !

If you see those price lists carefully, you'll notice these are prices before the increased Cess as on 9th September 2017, Post GST. I believe that prices have been revised time and again for cars >4 meters due to revisions in GST. So, what you'll have will be the latest price quote as of March 2018.

Thanks for the update though.

I really doubt these prices are updated. They look to be the ones prior to the 8-10% increase in GST on SUV's and other luxury cars. It would be nice to get the updated price on the vehicles in this above mentioned bracket, as even the CSD website has the same old pdf file which was released back in September 2017.

On a different note, any update on when can we expect the facelifted XUV500 to be introduced in CSD?

Toyota Yaris is now available through CSD. This info is not from any primary source but taken from Yaris ad in newspaper where its avaiability in CSD is indicated. Difference in price should be approx 80,000/- at the lowest end and going all the way up to 1,20,000/- for the highest model.

Guys, there's a ruling that states you cannot buy more than one car within a time span of 4 years from CSD. Is there any way to get it sooner?

Any word on the availability of the Amaze via CSD? The older variant of the car sold via CSD, would it be replaced by the new one?

re: Buying a car through the CSD. EDIT: Revised criteria on page 21

Has anyone bought a car via CSD in Kerala? My mom is a CSD Cardholder (Dad was a JCO) and I believe is eligible for this. Wanted to know how to go about it. I've approached FCA India for a Jeep Compass and they've given me a quote; said I've to go to Kochi and taken a token and all. Little confused on steps needed to be taken first. Any help would be appreciated

You can try and send an application to consider you as special case for exemption. State reasons as to why a second car is required. One example may be separated posting at field and spouse requiring additional car at place of residence. State your specific and valid reason. It may require a little liaisoning.

1. Kochi CSD doesn't sell cars.
2. The cars available at canteen are through INCS (Indian Naval Canteen Service) and as last I know, they have not resumed selling of cars post GST implementation.
3. The nearest CSD that sells cars is at either Coimbatore or Chennai.
4. As per new procedure, I believe these days cars at CSD rates are being sold directly through the dealer and paperwork is online. Kindly check with the local dealer. This will ease out a lot of your problems.
5. The biggest problem that I foresee for you will be eligibility. As far as I know, PBORs are eligible for purchase of one car after retirement, below 1500 cc. Check with your nearest Zila Sainik Board and confirm revision of criteria. I guess some changes have been instituted recently for eligibility.
