Toyota Etios Cross to be launched at Auto Expo 2014

They say it is going to be priced 60K above the Etios. I can't believe that they are trying to sell the old wine with plastic clads! If there were a bit of improvements from the old etios it would have been a relief. But Toyota is taking India market too lightly I guess. Is it that the Innova charm is able to cover up all the other diasters in their balance sheet??

Did someone say booking amount of 50 k ?

Hyundai is accepting the newly launched Xcent bookings for a mere 5k.

And Toyota asking 50 k booking for this piece of plastic covered contraption ?

First ride reports of Etios Cross appeared today. Seems like a decent offering if its priced at 60k premium to the Liva hatch.

From autocar and overdrive reports, i don't see any changes except for the exterior looks. Why would that require a team Bhp TD report?

Still haven't figured out the purpose of launching this car. What is it all about and what kind of buyer is Toyota targeting with this lab experiment gone horribly wrong kind of a car?

And that ad posted above has to be the worst ad ever. The voice is irritating, the camera work lacks any appeal and overall it appears more of a documentary. This has to be the first automotive related ad that I closed down in 1:40 minutes.

Agreed an very-very annoying stupid Advert!

Does the Etios cross gain some GC? over the regular Etios?

I searched for the ad after reading your post, and was determined to see it till the end, but just couldn't. What a stupid documentary, for an equally pointless car!

The OD review concluded so..."For someone who wants a "macho" car for an additional cost of Rs. 60,000/-". Seriously, this is getting a bit too offending from the manufacturers on rating the Indian car buying public. First they decide Indians are & love cheap things, now they dare to call a car with cladding as "macho"!
