Brazilian Kas are expected to get 1.0L EcoBoost petrol motor. Indian Next-Gen Figos will definitely get the 1.5L TDCI Diesel engine in addition. Ford has already started teasing the Ka hatchback in Brazil with a launch expected soon

Ka sedan is the Figo Concept that Ford has already unveiled here. But there is a small difference. The Figo sedan will be smaller (under 4 meters) than the Ka sedan so that it gets the excise duty benefits.

Ford imports Ka/New-Figo hatchbacks for testing on Indian roads.

The cars that have been imported feature the 1.5 liter-4 cylinder Ti-VCT petrol engine that is also found on the likes of the new Ford Fiesta and the EcoSport crossover sold in India.

The India-spec version of the Ka hatchback are likely to feature a non-turbo version of the EcoBoost 1 liter-3 cylinder engine and the 1.5 liter-4 cylinder, TDCI turbo diesel motor. The same engine line up is likely to be offered on the compact sedan based on the 2014 Ford Figo/Ka.

The production version of Ford's latest hatchback offering Ka unveiled in Brazil ahead of the car's expected launch around 2014 FIFA World Cup.

In Brazil, Ford Ka will get power from naturally aspirated 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine which can churn out a power of 85 bhp and peak torque of 10.7 kgm. The engine would come mated to five-speed manual gearbox and it would be capable of running on gasoline and ethanol.

The car which is tested for its fuel efficiency is expected to give 13 km/l in urban and 15.1 km/l in extra-urban on petrol and 13 km/l in urban and 15.1 km/l in extra-urban while running on ethanol...

Talking of the India bound version of Ford Ka, the car is likely to be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. Although the petrol engine of the car is still unclear, rumours suggest that the diesel model would come with 1.5 litre TDCi diesel engine, which can generate a power of 89 bhp and a peak torque of 204 Nm. The company is likely to sell the next gen Figo along side the current model in the domestic market and will reach Indian shores in 2015.

Just a day after unveiling the production version teasers of it's Ka hatchback, Ford has revealed production version teasers of it's Ka-based (next-gen Figo) sedan, presumably called as "Ka+".

This sub-4m sedan offering from Ford might replace the Ford Classic (formerly the older-gen Fiesta) in the Indian market, and take on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki DZire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai XCent & the yet-to-be-launched Tata Zest.

The car looks refreshing and nice. I have a Ford Figo and it is a great car. A sedan version will definitely be a very good decision as a sedan Figo is missed a lot. But I hope they keep the pricing right and not too expensive for both hatchback and a sedan.

Don't look too far . The ol' Fiesta built on the same MKV platform is the sedan version of the Figo.

The car looks good. As a Figo owner and a Figo fan (please note I didn't mention myself as a Ford fan), this will definitely be a good replacement. I hope they load it to the gills and give it the same ride quality and handling ability of the current car.

One thing I feel bad for is Aston Martin. Every darn car now has their grill design and I am sure somewhere in a dark corner of a design studio, an AM designer is curled up and crying seeing this beautiful design element in every single car.

I like a central console which can hold the mobile phone nicely.

Wish every car in future provides a generic mobile interface where mobile can be used to display the car information, act as a GPS and audio / video player.

Motorbeam reports, via an exclusive scoop, that the next-gen Figo (Ka) and the Figo-based sedan (Ka+) will be produced at Ford's upcoming plant in Sanand, Gujarat.

Ford India has also imported 50 body shells and parts of the next-gen Figo and the Figo-based sedan for testing.

Ford officially unveiled pictures of the 2015 Ka and Ka+ a couple of weeks back. The new Ka is set to enter India as the Figo replacement while the Ka+ will be the Figo sedan. While the Ka and Ka+ will start selling in Brazil very soon, these vehicles will be launched in India only in 2015.

Now it has been learnt from our sources that Ford India will manufacture the 2015 Figo and Figo sedan at its upcoming facility in Sanand. Ford India has also imported 50 body shells and parts of the next gen Figo and Figo sedan for testing purposes.

Production of the new Figo will begin in March 2015.

I can't figure out what's so great about the external design.
Yes, the grill and headlights seem to be attractive but the side profile is like a Indica Vista and looks terribly dated.
There are much better looking hatchbacks in the market today in the B+ segment.

I don't know where Ford wants to position this car. Figo sold like hot cakes in the first couple of years for its tremendous value proposition - size and space similar to B+ segment while pricing was similar or even lower than B segment.

Don't know much about the features and interiors but it seems to me that it will be positioned well below Hyundai I20 or even the Swift. The aggressive pricing of the Fiesta means that this car and the sedan version will be priced attractively too, which might be the trumpcard Ford has up its sleeve.

The news article says a 3-cylinder petrol motor... Really? Com'on Ford.. that'll be like taking 1 step forward n 2 steps back
