A brainchild of Indian designers, developed indigenously at the General Motors Technical Centre - India, this marvel of modern engineering is all set to make its global debut at the 12th Auto Expo in Delhi NCR, India.

This concept vehicle, which will have its global debut, is most likely the Chevrolet Adra compact SUV. The Adra would be a sub-4 meter SUV that will take on the likes of the Ford EcoSport and Renault Duster in India.

The Adra concept is based on GM’s Gamma 2 platform. The Adra is likely to be powered by the same 1.3-liter diesel engine that powers the Sail and the Enjoy, producing 77 hp.

The Chevrolet Adra was a joint effort by Holden and GM of India, with the clay modeling and final fabrication done in Melbourne.

GM of India says the car was inspired by Indian designers at the GM technical centre in India, but GoAuto understands that the job – the first undertaken by GM’s Indian branch – was done under the watchful eye of mentors at Holden.

The final design work, including tricky technical designs and clay modeling, were done at Holden’s Melbourne studios.

The show car was also built by Holden Design, which is one of only two GM centres in the Asian region capable of taking a vehicle from initial design to completion.

From the wraps, the Mini-SUV looks stunning !! But what's the point of launching new products, when sustaining old ones is not of interest for GM India ?

My main question remains, will they keep Adra upto the mark like other competitors ? Or will it die the next day when it is launched ?

A Chevy Beat upgrade with nothing major to flaunt.
The Spark & Captiva are struggling.
Sail Twins - People just forgot about it on the 2nd day it was launched.

I kind of feel that I liked the Trax design better. This somehow is NOT giving a good SUV look, may be the shades are playing the trick.

I see a jacked swift or something in the lines of Nissan Juke. Is it too little, too late. ?

I am pretty sure it will take at least 2 yrs to hit the markets

The wraps are off and I must say it looks really pleasing and inoffensive at first sight. :)

Well i think what matters is who did the designing and not who did the clay modelling and final fabrication.... in that Case GM-Tech Centre should get that credit. Kudos for the design.

I would gladly give it a pass. The closest I can associate is the Suzuki Hustler. Feel bad that it's NOT the Trax that is set for India. :Frustrati

This looks like a cross between the Yeti & Stingray lol: 2017 is a long way to go. looks like GM India are not too keen on getting off their behinds and doing something to capture the market
