Re: Skoda @ Auto Expo 2014

I really like the Yeti. However, I was convinced that in India the automatic is not on offer? Is that about to change?

Re: Skoda @ Auto Expo 2014

Is that the facelifted Yeti or have they just brought in the EU version here to show off? Why show a LHD facelift unless you;re still working on the RHD facelift for India?

Re: Skoda @ Auto Expo 2014

Nice coverage indeed. Thanks Mods.

How much would it cost to make a RHD version and show it to us with English language on MID? If they are really interested to launch this version here, then they should make the appropriate vehicle and show it to the public. This shows the amount of seriousness that a manufacturer has towards a particular market.

I really do not like these Germans, who always seem to be arrogant. I like their vehicles but the attitude doesn't seem to be appealing. Or may be i am wrong.

The vehicle looks good, but i don't think that it will come to India. Saying based on the amount of seriousness that they are showing. Also the earlier model wasn't a chart buster. One could confidently say that it was dud. Lets see how Skoda acts on this model.

I was expecting to see a small car from Skoda. Its surprising that they haven't showcased one. Maybe they will show it in next couple of days. Or am i missing anything?

Sadly, that's the new Yeti but EU version. Skoda won't make the mistake of getting the L&K, given they were barely able to get good numbers on the Ambition and Elegance variants.

Going by this post from BS Motoring journalist, Skoda was not going to bring the DSG on the refreshed Yeti. Also this is a 170bhp DSG. Highly suspect this variant/version will ever make it to India. In fact, news articles (like in AutoCar India) have been mentioning Skoda will localise considerably + bring in smaller engines (like 1.2 TSI, etc).

Considering Skoda wants to start selling this from September, I'm surprised as well that they don't have a close-to-production ready model to display. I did believe Skoda will put the new Outdoor Yeti model with localised parts and stuff. I wonder why with about 7 months to go for the new Yeti, they aren't able to display a localised model made for India.

I was so looking forward to the new Yeti that was claimed to be built here with local parts (as opposed to a CKD build-up). They totally bought an import.

No surprises there. Skoda never said they'll be unveiling a small car, so why the surprise? They don't have anything currently now so don't expect anything soon either.

Looks really good. Maybe it lost a bit of the quirkiness, but I guess the new look will garner wider acceptance compared to the current one.

Really liked the black interiors and also the shade of the leather. Unfortunately, for India it could be the (so-called) luxurious beige and faux-wood combination.

Re: Skoda @ Auto Expo 2014

No mention about a compact SUV below Yeti from Skoda. (The Polar SUV).
Looks like they are not keen on the lower end of the segment or they would de-tune Yeti with 1.6L Diesel and bring it in at a lower price point ?

Re: Skoda @ Auto Expo 2014

Love that Yeti inside out. The design, quality and type of materials used. But it is a European import without much localization. And sadly localization is what takes the essence out of many European cars here.

And was expecting to see the facelifted Rapid here. I really like it.

Re: Skoda @ Auto Expo 2014

Loved the new Yeti. It does seem to lose that quirkiness it had earlier, thanks to those new fogs.
Skoda should certainly get the DSG+TDI combo to India and maybe offer it in the L&K trim.

Lovely color that
