Yes, that sure is. He was part of the launch event for the Bolt and the new mini sedan from Tata, details of which are on this thread :

Re: Mahindra @ Auto Expo 2014

Most hospitals would definitely be interested in the Genio ambulance. Are they as available built up units (excluding the defib, suction, etc) or is it just a concept based on the Genio?

The space factor seems ok. Our hospital has Tempo Traveller based ones and I would surely check this out for our fleet.

Excellent observation man!
Started cost cutting on concepts too! lol..! Imagine someone touching the back button randomly!
Making customized displays have become so easy and cheap now. All you need is a plastic body and a tablet display to slot in!

Re: Mahindra @ Auto Expo 2014

M&M should contemplate putting in their 1.5 liter Diesel which currently does duty in Quanto for the Halo and launch it as an affordable sports cars under 9 Lakhs. That is an unexplored option and apart from the San Storm we did not have much of 2 door cars that are affordable.

Discounting the Dolphin

An anemic 3 cylinder diesel motor based of an MUV into a sports car? The Quanto engine is nowhere close to sports car performance.

Re: Mahindra @ Auto Expo 2014

Mahindra is really stepping up their game by investing in electric cars. It gives immense pride to see especially an electric sports car from an Indian manufacturer. We've come a loooong way from having only Amby, padmini and maruti 800, man what a great stride Indian automotive industry has taken during this time. Anyone know when All new Scorpio will be revealed?

Price Conscious 2.2 would be a very heavy option for the Halo. My 2 cents

Re: Mahindra @ Auto Expo 2014

I am impressed by Mahindra's electric initiatives! The Halo is a head-turner for sure. Can I have it with a V6 200 bhp motor, for now?

Mahindra missed out on showcasing things like:
- The face-lifted version of the Scorpio
- A Verito Vibe with a proper hatch (not an impractical boot). Whenever I see a Vibe, I feel that the absence of a hatch is what is killing it.
- A good looking evolution of the Bolero, without the panel gaps, with at least 120 bhp on tap.

The latest Bolero Stinger looks hideous. The front grille and lamps look like cardboard cutouts done by kindergarten kids for a science project. Also, what is with all those unnecessary plastic bits bolted to the body? Maybe Mahindra is trying hard for gaining entry to and raising the bar in our Weird and Wacky thread.

The Thar Midnight is gorgeous! I wonder how the interiors look like.

The Quanto Autoshift will not make a dent in the sales charts. Why? Well the biggest problem with the Quanto is its unappealing styling. But like many on the forum observed, as long the Quanto is like a test bed for mini-UVs to come, it makes sense for Mahindra.

3 pot - true, but it's still better (technology) than some of the archaic diesels - such as Ford series. In europe, this entire ford 1.4 series is banned.

Banned? I've never heard of that. It's an old engine and phased out in the UK. Even in India you now get the 1.5TDCi in new Fiesta and Ecosport.

I'm not sure of the point in comparing a 1.4TDCI from Ford with the 1.5L from Quanto? Is the 1.5L Quanto engine available in the UK?

Who banned the 1.4 TDCi engine in Europe?

Some excerpts from Wikipedia for the 1.4 TDCi engine-
Quote:
The Ford DLD engine is an automobile engine family - a group of compact straight-4 Diesel engines developed jointly by Ford of Britain and the automotive-diesel specialist PSA Group (Peugeot/Citroën). The Ford of Britain/PSA joint-venture for the production of the DLD/DV was announced in September, 1998. Half of the total engine count are produced at Ford of Britain's main plant at Dagenham, England and at Ford's Chennai plant in India, the other half at PSA's Trémery plant in France.[1]
The straight-4 engines are sold under the Duratorq TDCi name by Ford, and as the HDi by Citroën and Peugeot. Mazda also uses the Ford-made DLD engine in the Mazda2 and the Mazda 3, calling it the MZ-CD or CiTD.
Quote:
an 8-valve design, uses a Borg-Warner KP35 turbocharger but no intercooler. This is the same turbocharger as the Renault K9K Diesel. It is Euro 3 compliant, but will receive a Diesel particulate filter from 2006 to make it Euro 4 compliant. In Ford, Mazda, and most PSA applications it uses a Siemens SID804 or SID802 common rail injection system. In some PSA applications a Bosch common rail system is used.

Re: Mahindra @ Auto Expo 2014

I think Mahindra should give more attention to the design component in their cars. Xylo, Verito, XUV all are bland and uninviting . The only other car from Mahindra stable which piqued my interest is Thar.
