Re: Audi @ Auto Expo 2014

I didn't really have high hopes on the A3 specially for rear seat space. The A4 by itself isn't the most roomiest I've been in, and it was but natural that the smaller proportion of the A3 will cut down this space even more. The picture that has been posted makes it very clear that the A3 is more driver oriented and not quite for people intending to get comfortable at the back.

Also, the fact that the A3 is too bare bone an Audi for an Audi! I foresee A4 sales picking up after the launch of the A3.

Hi Anshuman
I did have a look at the photograph of the gentleman seated in the back seat of the Audi A3 on the same page as your post on 8th Feb and ive been wondering if the front seats were first positioned at a reasonable driving position before that photograph was taken, given the fact that the front seats in the A3 have a pretty long travel.
Buddy, the gentleman seated in the back is .Anshuman our moderator. Given his expertise of reviewing the cars, I am confident that he would have done due diligence with the front seat before coming up with such a picture.

Had big hope about the A3 selling in huge numbers but after seeing the rear seat space I doubt it'll create any fireworks at all! Let's wait and see once the pricing is known

Re: Audi @ Auto Expo 2014

I can already feel claustrophobic looking at the rear space on the A3 !!
If it is meant to be a car for 2, i think they should launch a 2 door version and make it even sportier. This will appeal even more to the young target audience they have in mind. Surely they do not expect sensible young families to buy a car with that little space. I would buy a 2 door version any-day.

Ooops, Mea Culpa. yeah I'm sure he would have, but i was just kinda hoping against hope, perhaps they will introduce a long wheel base version someday just as they have overseas.

Re: Audi @ Auto Expo 2014

Thanks for the coverage.
I was very skeptical about the new incoming A3, but now after looking at I cant wait for the official review of it. Yeah the rear seat is cramped, but for me it is not an issue. I really like the fact that it has the 1.8TFSI engine at about 180Bhp, it should be a fun car to drive around.

Just cant wait for the official price to be out though.

Audi India website has started customer registration for those who want to book it.

I really wished they covered something about the Q3. That car sells very good in India. Any upcoming trims or options about Q3 would have really helped.

Re: Audi @ Auto Expo 2014

Seeing the pictures I cant believe the rear leg space in the A3. Can't actually believe Audi will make such a blunder since its one company which has got most of its product line up right! Also since it shares the Octavia platform, wouldn't leg space be ample enough? But the pictures suggest otherwise.

Seeing that the model showcased is a TFSI 1.8 quattro in S Line Trim, hardly doubt most of these would features would make it to the entry level A3 slated for India. The dashboard also looks disappointing with Audi's trademark slight driver oriented tilt missing.

Re: Audi @ Auto Expo 2014

Audi India to use CKD route for A3 sedan from start.

But for the first time, with the A3, we are going for a fully locally-assembled car as a first step to control costs and give price preposition to our customers.
