Well it's a VW trademark not just in Vento and Polo so it can't be a design issue and then afterthought of service position. It's there in Jetta as well.

It has more to do with wipers being hidden under the bonnet rather than the wipers sticking out a bit. The wiper almost hides below the bonnet line. More to do with aesthetics.

It's there for all the cars in the VAG lineup IINM. And the BMW cars (not sure if some or all).

Hi,
The wipers are under the hoodline to aid aerodynamics but cutting wind resistance and noise at higher speeds >160 kph these are an issue.

Please don't try it on public roads
