For what they want to do (a better LSPV), the simpler limit checking will also work just fine. However, if it is a electronically controlled system, the incremental cost of a more sophisticated algorithm is negligible. So more details awaited.

Wonder who the module manufacturer is? And if the front wheel speeds are sensed?

+1 Sir. We need more details on this Rear-ABS rather than speculating here.

The front wheels are not sensed and gave the normal discs.

Re: Mahindra Bolero with ABS launched as Special Edition

This sounds a bit wacky to me as I am facing issues with the latest model of Bolero fully loaded (ZLX). It's just being 4 months from the date of purchase and now I am facing so many issues.
  1. Firstly the vehicles accelerator pedal assembly got some issue which is confirmed as a flaw in this new version.
  2. Second thing is the vehicles front disk brakes are gone twice in just 1 month span where the vehicle is shuddering while applying brakes.

Now the vehicle is still in service centre and the Mahindra team is still figuring out what's wrong with the same. As they have so many flaws to resolve with their latest model (2014), it sounds a bit wacky to me about the new ABS feature in discussion in this forum.

Being a fan of Bolero, I hope Mahindra will do a decent job this time at-least.

Re: Mahindra Bolero with ABS launched as Special Edition

Some pictures of the Special Edition Bolero at my local dealership. Checked the engine; there is no sign of the usual ABS wire running into the ECU. So this low cost ABS must work differently; not computer controlled. Maybe mechanically controlled?

ABS has some electronics, but it is mostly mechanical. It doesn't necessarily have to be integrated into the Engine Control. ABS was offered on vehicles which never had ECU.
