A Maruti dealer over a casual discussion updated that the new Alto K10 Celerio spec engine will be launched soon, but priced around 20k more than the K10. Now the current K10 has discounts starting 40k, so the OTR is 4.10 - 40k = 3.70 OTR Mumbai. The new alto will not have any discounts at the start, and the OTR will be in the range of 4.30ish for the VXI variant. That makes a practical difference of 60k from the current K10. Also the Wagon R is available for at least 70k of discounts bringing the OTR Mumbai to 4.2 (with exchange bonus of 30k)

So as of now (OTR Mumbai)
- Current K10 VXI OTR = 3.7
- new Alto K10 VXI = 4.3
- Wagon R VXI OTR = 4.2
- Celerio VXI = 4.9

This Alto 800 based chassis is already criticized for being light & flimsy offering almost No Safety or 0 star, be precise & now they're loading up with even more powerful 67PS engine which can transform it into an unstoppable light & tiny car with tin-can like build.

It really a shame on safety aspect what the manufacturer is ignoring altogether.
Do you guys think that this car can handle such a powerful engine, high acceleration & high speeds !

Wish they could sell the old k10 with a classic badge along with the ugly duckling, would have any day preferred that over this.
I was planning to buy a k10 next year, do not know if stocks of the old k10 would still be left till that time.

The new front bumper is with the fog-lamps. While the side view remains largely the same as the Alto 800 the rear-end has new tail-lamps and a new rear bumper which actually makes it similar in design to the Maruti Celerio. There are bigger wheels as well! Inside you have a new look interior with a new dash which makes it more premium looking than the one on the Alto 800. The biggest plus point of the new Alto K10 will be the AMT option given with the 67 bhp 1.0 K10 engine. This is the same gearbox which is there in the Maruti Celerio.

Looks a lot better without that chrome upper lip. Don't know why Maruti is suddenly fascinated with that! Even the upcoming DZire facelift seems to be having similar chrome teeth.

Severely OT

I WILL buy this new Alto K10. It simply redefines the word Hot Hatch- Imagine a hatch with Audi's Engine.





For a moment, I was awestruck at the view of Engine compartment-I never thought the K10 looked so good!! At this moment I had not noticed the Audi LOGO.

OD- Please atleast have a look before uploading your reviews!!

BTW, the interiors look a bit overdone to me for such a small car, what are your views Team??

Wow. That is a really nice interior. Has a Hyundai Elite i20 theme to the centre console. I hope quality is up. Can't say much for the exterior.
