Taken by you? Lovely luck considering that they have till date kept the 'full-reveal' very secret

Probably a bit of cladding would have increased the look. |
Agree with you on this. Proportions are good, but looks a wee bit tame. Cladding would have helped definitely
The heavy bumper means replacing that with an off-road bumper would also be difficult

Hope they have come with Dusterish ride quality on this. |
No chance of that. Ladder -frame chassis - the softer they make the suspension, the more 'wallowy' the ride will be
Proportions look much better then expected, good point is that they have come up with the 6-speed AT. Now it boils down to the ride quality and the juice of the engine.
Ok! Now that we have some images to go by, let us have an healthy discussions on the pro's and con's of the vehicle. Till date M & M has been bashed for this vehicle and it has been compared to the Sintex Tank in earlier posts. :Frustrati
Personally, I would have preferred it to be a little more flatter towards the rear instead of it sloping upwards. If they are going to offer a 6 speed AMT when launching and at an attractive pricing, we can be sure to see it setting the sales chart on fire and giving "Tough" competition to the wannabe SUV's like Ecosport, Creta, Duster etc.
Lets wait and watch!:D
Looks like there is another contender in my hunt for a higher GC vehicle. The rear looks quite raised but it could be due to the camera angle. I hope that it has good driving dynamics with no front end dive upon hard braking. If Mahindra provides it with safety features and a 4WD, that would be icing on cake. Now the wait continues.

Any chance of this monster getting an auto tranny or at least an AMT? |
The last snap of red one is that of a 6 speed automatic.

Edit: never mind, got the answer.
This will be the ideal replacement to my 1st gen i20.
The last pictures do feel better than the previous base variant ones. Though I feel the pillar design is a bit awkward, but it's been fixed by blackening them out. Another thing that's necessary is black cladding on the sides. Really will do nicely to get rid of the slab-sidedness of the car
. (Oops, SUV. Because this is apparently one real SUV!)
But, especially in that red shade, can't help but also notice a bit of a Premier Rio in that TUV. Hope they do add the black cladding and change the name. IMHO, even U301 will do as a better name than TUV3OO!! ;)

The big difference which we saw in earlier spy reveals and the latest one is the black colored B-pillar and window rims (if that is a correct term). That lends a lot of balance to the look.
Honestly, a cladding at the bottom would make a world of difference.
Looks much better than i expected.
Just get some better shoes with larger alloys, and this could look like a beast.
Why the obsession with keeping the cars under 4 meters (benefits I know, but at the cost of aesthetics and ride quality)? :Frustrati
For some reason it looks very Quanto-ish (Better for sure though) and could have been a much better design had it been a little flatter/longer

Hope the product actually launched on 10th has totally different winning expressions! |
Creta, Duster, Scross and even the XUV are pseudo SUV's and more of sedans on steroids. For a SUV enthusiast the best SUV's are still boxy.
With the camo it looked way too boxy. But the fruit is very tasty. Looks unmistakably Mahindra and yet not so Mahindra (in a good way.)
Looks much better than I expected from Mahindra.
If this is going to undercut the Scorpio then this will be a super value proposition and a clear departure from the "price fixing" manufacturers are playing with us these days.
Boxy chrome grill looks like Jeep Renegade. Beautiful.
Car itself looks like it carries some Jeep DNA. I heard Pininfarina was involved in the design. If true, it shows.
Still doubtful of the NVH because its a Mahindra and has a 3-pot motor.
Is it confirmed that this will have ladder on frame construction? Or it can be monocoque? Asking this in the interest of better ride and handling.
Attachment 1408261
Another one which is a bit better than the one shared earlier. This one is with manual transmission.
The engine sound is better compared to Quanto and the body roll was fairly controlled on sharp turns, though one can see a rocking action at start and stop of engine - the standard Mahindra feature.
