Looks nice. It seems to have more road presence than most SUVs which cost twice as much. Also seems less boxier than the new Scorpio. Got nice big ORVMs and a rear wiper. Is that offered in the current Bolero too?
The XUV 500 Styled grille tends to suit the bolero more than the XUV itself..
Would have a better road presence than the current generation bolero and It looks more Urban also.
Any Idea about the Engine options or 4WD on offer By Mahindra?

In the current Bolero, the rear wash & wipe is present only in the top end ZLX variant.

Nice catch but pls note that what you see outside may not represent the actual vehicle. Many times these test vehicles have a mix of body panels from existing cars to either mislead people like us who are looking out for them or because those panels are still not yet signed off from a production perspective. If you look at the rear, it retains the same boxy angular look of the existing Bolero. If it indeed turns to be boxy from the rear and have the XUVish front, it will head straight into the weird and wacky thread !
To me somehow this vehicle also looks very short in length. Is it a sub 4m Bolero by any chance ( running the Quanto engine ? )
i feel your observation is correct narayan, it might be the bolero based on the maxitruk plus which is having a very short Front Overhang (200 less approx.)
It looks like a mix of quanto and Bolero, From behind and side it looks like Quanto with a flattened roof and front looks more of a Bolero
Looks like a Quanto type version of a XUV 5oo.
It is most probably Quanto internally with Bolero like shell. Overall proportion indicates so.
Earlier I thought the new Bolero-in-making will be a good one to look at.
But now, seeing the pic below, I fear it will go the Quanto way. Tall but short in length, its proportions are not attractive.

Is this new Bolero a Ladder on Chassis or A Monocoque design?
I never thought I would get to see a heading 'Bolero Spied' :)
It does look odd. More like Tata Grande
Scenarios for the new Bolero:
1. Sub 4mtr monocoque baby Bolero to take on Eco Sport/ Duster.
2. Sub 4mtr ladder on chassis Bolero (Invader)as an alternate for soft top Thar.
3. Regular size Bolero to replace current generation Bolero or co-exist with the current Bolero.
Any thoughts or inputs?

Saw the vehicle in ECR road in Chennai, along with a brand new XUV and a Quanto. The shape looks good. Not too tall, but wide and looks butch with the spare tyre on the back. Pretty neat acceleration and the vehicle can do a cool 120+ . Attachment 1299996 |
Is there a chance of this being the updated/facelifted Quanto.

Baby Bolero. A La Quanto effect!
I would still like to see a long wheel base Bolero, similar size to the current Bolero.
