Congratulations to all the new TUV owners. Wishing you lot of happy miles. |
Autoindian, hope you get your vehicle delivered before Diwali. |
Except for few minor issues that I reported in my TD notes, I'm quite satisfied with what is offered in TUV. Unfortunately my wife and elder son did not like the boxy look, but my younger son who is a car enthusiast is sold on TUV(maybe he is tired of me making him visit all new launches for test drives in the last one year) stupid:. I'm not sure yet if I'll be going for it. Will wait till new year and decide. |
If you get a chance, can you get about the made to order green color option with your showroom guys on the amount of time between order and delivery. And any pictures of it in case someone from your showroom had ordered one. |

Sure I will check with my showroom guys about the green color when I talk to them on Monday. Will definitely take pictures if the green color is available with the showroom or stock yard. |

I talked with Mahindra Customisation people today. As per them, the Combat Green colour is not painted in factory but is painted by Mahindra Customisation. One have to buy a new car with any colour and then get it painted to Combat Green from Mahindra Customisation. |

Quick update: - White T8 AMT was delivered early morning on 22nd Oct. - 350 kms done so far - Mods: 1. Black vinyl wrap for A & C pillars. Rs. 1143 at 3M. |
2. Switched to Michelin Latitude cross. Stock apollo appterra were a disaster, I could count every pebble on road with apollos. Huge difference in ride quality with Michelin, costs me Rs. 16,000/- for 4 tires. Lokmanya Auto center is your go to shop in Pune. |
- I am loving the AMT, has loads of low end torque and driving in is city breeze. One drawback with AMT is on steep climb car roll backs. But with handbrakes it is manageable. Once the torque kicks in you shouldn't face any problems. |
- I also drove on highways, the 85 bhp didn't matter to me even with fully loaded car. Reaching 100kms is not a problem but 100km to 120km is different story. |
- Steering is responsive but could have been lighter. First day did experience soreness after 100km but that was more due to incorrect steering position than heavy steering per se. But still wished steering to be lighter. |
- Average so far is around 13kmpl in city, based on calculations using DTE and filled fuel. Yet to do a tank to tank calculation. |

Congratulations once again. Sir, pictures please. Why have you done the Black vinyl wrap for even the A pillar, just the C pillar would have been sufficient. Anyway I want to see how does it look in real. By the way thank you for calling me this morning and giving a detailed report. |

Good upgrade quite a solace to know that this size in available in Michelin. What was the buy back for the stock tyres? Otherwise what is the MRP of Michelin Latitude cross? |

Since your daily drive is the Figo now, you might be feeling the difference initially, but will soon get used to it. I was immediately at home with the long travel clutch, long throw gears and heavy steering as my daily drive was Innova. I felt the TUV bettered the Innova in all the above aspects. |

That is a decent average for a 1.6 tonne car that has not even completed the running in. It is only going to get better from here :thumbs up. I think 15kmpl should be easily achievable for in-city runs. Since the car has a huge tank of 60 litres, I would suggest to do a tankful as soon as it reaches the half-way mark. |

Edit: I forgot to ask you Girish, are the stock lights adequate? You have mentioned that the static bending lamps are quite effective, but how are the headlamps and fog lamps. Are they sufficient for night highway driving where we have to rely only on our car lights or an upgrade to 90/100 lamps is warranted? |

Friends, I am not able to get the necessary response from my Sales Exec. When I visited the showroom, last Saturday, he had specifically told me to give him a reminder about my car order status on Monday afternoon. Hence called him today afternoon. However he could not get hold of his Sales Manager. I called him a couple of times, however he was not able to get the status. Its been exactly one week since I booked the car. Though they have committed delivery before Diwali, by now at least they should have told me what is the order status, has the car been manufactured, has it come out of assembly line etc. Is there any way I can get this information online? |

Congratulations Captain Rex :thumbs up, TUV looks excellent in Black color. Happy driving. I have read that even the jump seats are comfortable with good back support. Could you please share your personal experience in case you use it on a long drive? |

Sightly OT: After going through 40 odd pages here and reviews & videos on other portals & youtube, I have some very basic questions: 1) 3 Cylinder turbo engines seem to be quiet efficient and maybe even cheaper than 4 cylinder turbo diesels. Why are we not seeing more of these in India? 2) Given the tendency of a 3 Cylinder to vibrate more, what changes has M&M done to the engine mounts to ensure that they last longer and handle this additional load 3) Given that FR layout cars are making a comeback and the advantage of the layout is better handling, braking and lower turn radius: will this work well for monocoque cars? 4) Does the mechanical loss due to FR configuration offset the gain from 3 Cylinder Turbo? Is this along with the additional weight the main reason for lower ARAI FE of the TUV 300? 5) Are FR cars more expensive to maintain? |
