Re: 2014 Ford Fiesta Facelift : A Close Look

I have a doubt on my ford fiesta if i keep the light switch on auto there is no use of parking lights. Either the low beam turns on or no lights. Is it supposed to be that way ?

Adultrated fuel can be one cause? But i regularly refuel at that pump.
I also had a feeling of excess engine noise as well as vibrations in the cabin.
No loss of power was felt. Plan to take the car to the dealer on my next visit to Pune.
Mine was showing 14.3 in the first tank full later when it crossed 1000kms avg mileage as per meter was 15.6 now after crossing 1500kms its showing 16.7 checked with the service guy he asked me to check milage only after the first service ie; after 2500kms and its normal.

It is similar in the Skoda Laura that we have.
The logic is that parking lights are well - parking lights. As soon as it is dusky, headlights should be on - which is what auto mode detects and does.
By leaving it on, the lights should come on automatically in basements and tunnels - less of a bother for the driver.
In the skoda, when in auto - the headlights also switch on at 120kmph or higher.

It all depends on the sensor that is for light detection. Depending on the intensity it receives in Auto mode, either low beam is ON or the lights are OFF.

That's a pretty good, thoughtful feature. Is it possible to adjust when the lights should come on? Like 100 kmph or earlier?

Can you mention the ODO on the car when you faced this? And when you say it was the lowest achieved, what was the best you got?
Is the vibration and sound still there?

2014 Ford Fiesta Facelift : A Close Look-imageuploadedbyteambhp1420610930.061309.jpg
This is what the car returned after driving it at a leisurely pace of 70-90 for a distance of 50 kms.
Fiesta is doing its duty just fine, about to touch 5000 on the odo and every thing is smooth so far. This 1.5 TDCi is very very frugal, the car has never returned a fe figure below 19 so far and its always driven in city traffic.

Have noticed slight tingling vibrations on the steering when engine is revved past 3000 rpm, it is not there on my Ecosport so what could it be? Planning to get the balancing checked and if that does not solve it, will show it during 10k service.

Re: 2014 Ford Fiesta Facelift : A Close Look

Spotted this brand new Smoke Grey at a red light here yesterday. So, that's how it looks. A good reference for someone looking out for this colour. Couldn't get any shots from the front though.

I guess a possible adulteration.
Also possible, if your cruise above 3000 rpm continuously.

The service guy is correct. Try to keep you rpm below 2.5k in the 'run in' period.

^^ Looks nice. How much did it cost. Do you feel any difference with the seat contour/comfort after this or is it the same as before.

Now that's some eye-candy - real neat. The pictures are slightly grainy & hence, I can't make out the color of stitches - red or white ? May it's just my eyes. Was steering also wrapped ? Also, do you mind revealing the place of workmanship as well as the price for the same ?

Did you stop the car at some place with AC ON ( idle the car with engine ON) for long time? like 10 mins or above?

For calculating the mileage, the Cluster usually considers the history of the car. Say how much fuel was consumed for the last 100 - 150 kms. So if you keep your car at idle, ( with or without AC), the fuel consumed increases slowly without increase in the number of kms. So this could affect your displayed fuel economy and DTE but in actualy you might still be getting a good FE. So this could be a root cause for such a poor FE display.

Adulterated fuel can also be a cause since you can see vibrations. You can probably reset the FE meter and check again after driving 150-200 kms to understand the real reason.

Better quality picture, please!

Is that the 'Universal Arm rest that you have installed?

The stitching is white but gives a look as if it is red due to the grainy picture.

Sorry for the bad quality pictures, just proves note 2 cant handle low light , The arm rest is the typical aftermarket jugad (just serves the purpose) they fixed the same art leather on the armrest and did a double stitch on it so it matches with the rest.

Its white, did not opt for red stitch its nylon white stitch, I did it from http://www.rightfitcarseatcovers.com/
Split up:
1. Seat cover (double stitching, black art leather) =8k
2. Arm rest with double stitching = 1500
3. Head rest = 500
4. door console = 500
Total = 10.5k

Caliper painting = 500
