Discount @ Ford Fusion: 1,20,000 off

The New look fusion will be introduced anytime now. So the dealers are offering massive discounts on the the old one. The Ford dealer in NOIDA tried to sell me the Fusion @ 5,40,000...a good 1,20,000 off the ex showroom price....alas, he didn't have it in black. The dealers are clearing their stock so they have limited models left.

At that much of a discount.. you could buy whatever coloured one that was available and paint it yellow with pink polka dot's!

Are there any new Fusion pics?

I hope they have diesel/CNG in mind. that's what will sell the new model. (If it is coming)

The new model is going to be a diesel one from what I heard at my Ford dealership day before yesterday.......launch post October. So you can still go the discounted one if your interest is in a Petrol powerplant, at that discount, I would say its a steal if you like the UAV looks

Exactly! I am wondering, why this huge discount? Are they going to discontinue Fusion or what? Or are they anticipating that some minor touching, facelift will make this car a huge success? I don't see Fusion's future bright in India.

Nothing major....just a minor change in the bumpers and interiors. check the ford uk site for the interiors.

For me the new design is a thumbs up. Atleasat it lends the car some character.

How will the current fusion compete with Palio 1.6?

Same here. It's like a wider, lower Wagon R.

The "old" Fusion has plenty of good looks IMHO, and I see no major advantages in the new Fusion. At that discount, it's a steal, the car is a winner - only problem in the Fusion is the harsh city ride (try it, tell the dealer you want tyres inflated to the correct recommended pressure, it's enough to give you spinal problems). Spares are costly too - 15K for a bumper, 4K for outside mirror.

I haven't driven it, but a colleague who has one says it handles very well at corners and its pick up too is great. With a neat ground clearance, this car does seem to make sense. Looks are subjective. I personally find it quite interesting to look at. Its just that at over 6 its pricey. The palio 1.6 (I saw an ad yesterday that it was 4.6 or 4.8lacs in bombay) is of course cheaper.
