Re: New Toyota Fortuner caught on test in Thailand

[general rant]Why are all the SUVs suddenly trying to go sleek and suave? What happened to the good old boxy looks - rectangular lights, mirrors etc.[/general rant]

In this particular case, who knows they might just trump the 3 series in pricing if they decide to throw in some extra goodies.

I hope that the new fortuner have all the features like rear disks, six air bags, cruze control and other features which a 30 lac suv demands. As far as the looks are concerned I feels its similar to the new generation santa fe.

Re: New Toyota Fortuner caught on test in Thailand

2016 Toyota Fortuner design leaked

The 2016 Toyota Fortuner will be built on a lighter and rigid new ladder-frame chassis.

After a spy picture revealing the front fascia of the 2016 Toyota Fortuner leaked online a few days ago, another image revealing the complete design of this forthcoming new SUV has surfaced on the web. The next-generation Toyota Fortuner gets a muscular look and futuristic design to appeal to its buyers.

The 2016 Toyota Fortuner receives sleek headlamps, a chrome-finished twin slat grille and a restyled bumper housing large chrome finished fog lamp. Reports suggest that the Japanese carmaker would employ a lighter and rigid new ladder-frame chassis on the next-generation Fortuner to make it stiffer and better in terms of handling than its predecessor.

The Japanese carmaker will increase the length of the forthcoming new Fortuner to increase the interior space, according to reports. The 2016 Fortuner will also receive an up market interior, and will come loaded with several high end features.

The next-generation Toyota Fortuner is expected to make its debut in the Asian market by the end of this year.

The 2016 Delhi Auto Expo will take place in February, and will serve as an ideal platform for the upcoming new Fortuner to make its debut in India. The current Toyota Fortuner is priced at Rs 22.25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Expect the 2016 Fortuner to carry a price tag between Rs 22 lakh and Rs 25 lakh. Once launched, the 2016 Toyota Fortuner will compete with the Hyundai Santa Fe, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and the new Ford Endeavour in the SUV segment.

I'm loving it!

Only if they make it a 3.0 ltr petrol instead of 2.7 ltr petrol.

The engine options seem to be strange. No mention of the 3.0l but there is 3.2 ltr which Toyota hasn't offered any where yet. I don't think this piece of information is correct its like they mixed the engine options of the Endeavour and photo from the previously spied Fortuner design.

The next generation Toyota Fortuner has been spied on test yet again. The test mule seen here was spotted in Thailand and the image source states that the SUV could be revealed in July this year.

Re: New Toyota Fortuner caught on test in Thailand

^ Glad to see a new rim design, these look really BADASS, should be at-least 18"ers.

Front part is much PRADOish & the though the rear is heavily camouflaged the new design kink can be noticed & shall add "sportiness" to the overall aggressive stance of the Fortuner.

Rear disc cant be spotted here, but hopefully Toyota should incorporate that now.

Cant wait for the interior shots now

Happy to see the new Fortuner getting styling cues from 4Runner. The side profile resembles the 4Runner.

The stretching of the quarter glass for the 3rd row is a welcome move.

Hilux Surf's (4Runner) transformation into current generation Fortuner and now into the 2016 model sure completes it.

UAE Toyota is already launching the limited edition discounted priced Fortuner, it indicates that the 2016 could be launched in Dubai Motor show in November.

The rims look badass indeed !
Don't you think the overall length has increased a bit ? Now let's see how the interior pans out.
Toyota please give the Fortuner a chunky 4-spoke steering wheel with the a tall gear lever which complements its macho look! No sporty three spokes we ain't carving corners here!
Cooled seats and electrically adjustable steering wheel like the one found in the Camry Hybrid and panoramic sunroof won't hurt. 😝
On the 4-wheel side would love to have Differential locks at least as an option, the South African version seems to have it.

Also atleast 4 airbags 2 front and 2 curtain should be given. Asian lives are worth that much atleast !

I find this wishlist presentation extremely funny.(Nothing personal)
When has Toyota every listened to the Indian customer. They have dished out whatever they would like to give us at whatever price they choose to sell at and we lap it up like the last meal on earth.

Lets wait and see whether we get some real bread or just crumbs from Toyota like every other time.

My current Hilux is now 5 years and 300,000kms old, and from the leaked photo it looks like the full option for the European market. In the middle east we do get full options but only on special order and 3-4 months of waiting.

But I am sure its worth waiting for as it will be launched in 2-3 months time. On my recent visit to Toyota dealers in the GCC, they were already down with their Hilux stocks and that points to the quick arrival of the new Hilux 2016.

I think after the competition from the recent Ford Ranger and Mitsubishi L200, Toyota made the Hilux get its looks from the big daddy Toyota Tundra.
