I so dearly hope you're right bro! But what worries me is the monopoly Toyota enjoys in this segment. They don't even have to try hard to get the sales going. They just have to introduce a reasonably good product and ride the wave as it is, which as we all know, is pretty big! Other manufacturers are gonna have to push hard to even try dreaming of achieving the numbers the Fortuner is going to rake in. Seriously hope that Toyota don't slumber upon their previous successes and introduce something novel. The interiors and the absence of rear discs and advanced safety equipment were my gripes about the previous gen. I would be more than happy if Toyota addresses these.

Yes, probably the new Fortuner is bench marking the Chevy hence spotted together.

There may be a reason behind Toyota using Isuzu as a bench mark. If you see the sales report of Thailand, the Isuzu sells a lot more than the Toyota be it the pick up form or the SUV.

Although I strongly feel the Ford Ranger/Everest and Nissan Navara are very good, especially their pick up versions. Even the new Hilux Revo is not equally good as the Navara but for some reason it seems to sell the least!

Could we have the respective selling prices of these pick ups and the SUVs? It will give a clear picture as to where they stand when it comes to the pricing.

Incidently, Tata XENON was actually designed to cash in on the world's largest 1 ton pickup market in Thailand.

Here it comes....

http://www.autoblog.com/2013/11/03/isuzu-mu-x-videos/

http://www.carscoops.com/2013/11/isu...-suv-with.html

The answer is that, leaving aside emblems, grilles, lights and trims, they are the same pickup trucks co-developed by GM and Isuzu, while the other set of vehicles are the passenger SUV versions of the former.

All that said, the only true differentiator between the new Isuzu MU-X that was unwrapped this week in Thailand with the two GM models is the mild restyling of the front and rear ends and the interior décor and trims.

For more, please google it.

Interesting. Thanks for pointing this out.

So Isuzu still sells the older MU7 and Chevy has the latest platform. Wonder how long Isuzu in India will sell the outdated MU7 in 2WD guise priced higher than a Toyota Fortuner or Pajero sport.

You are most welcome.

South east Asian markets are better sales options for the OEMs compared to the Indian market and hence they get the better products compared to us in India.

Since the Mitsubishi has launched its new L200 pickup, expect the new Pajero Sport to be launched in these countries.

Ford Ranger/Everest/Endeavor
Toyota Hilux/Fortuner
Mitsubishi L200/Pajero Sport/Nativa
Chevrolet Colorado/Trailblazer
Isuzu D-Max/Mu X

These above mentioned vehicles are very much popular in south east Asian countries.
