OMG ! The car looks so good in white

No doubt I'm buying this in WHITE only just hoping the car has the following;

1) Manual transmission in 4x4
2) All Black Interiors

^ a hood scoop shall seal the deal

Re: New Toyota Fortuner caught on test in Thailand

Now where are the folks who said the new xuv looks feminine. :P
What have you done Toyota ! Cant find one angle from where i can say it looks better than the current one.
I hope the new endeavour is priced competitively and takes over the crown.

Re: New Toyota Fortuner caught on test in Thailand

For some odd reason, the brown Fortuner brings this to my mind !
New Toyota Fortuner caught on test in Thailand-tfw.jpg

That apart, am I the only one who thinks that the new Fortuner looks smashing in that shade and would look better still with even bigger tyres(yeah, you heard me!) and Lexus badging?! (although I'm not an avid rebadging enthusiast, couldn't help wondering)

It looks like a Chinese copy/clone of the current Toyota Fortuner.

On the contrary Toyota Hilux is the better looking of the twins!

I think I am the only one who loves the new look (sans the chrome overdose) - for me, this new grill looks more butch than the current one. And oh, this one begs for a BIG off-road spec tyre to complete the look.

But yeah, the interiors carry the same theme seen in the New Corolla. But still I like the looks, though it doesn't look as punchy and dominating as the present one - which literally is a mammoth!!

Give me the 1st gen Fortuner anyday, even the 2nd gen w/o those tail-lamps. The 2005 Endevour had character, new one looks modern but the face is lost amongst sea of modern cars, but still manages to look more butch than this.

There are positives, better engine, good interiors but...

Chassis based trucks are all about image, attitude, I see that being traded in. Sad.

Sigh. The old Ēlassic one - with all its quirks - had character. This one looks like Santa Fe's cousin. Worldwide trend. Even Nissan toned down the butch look of the Patrol.

My Fortune has done 100K kms, I think I will stick with it for some more time.

Thanks Dean. Looks very much acceptable in white. Atleast the interiors are more upmarket than the current version which is Innova derived.

Is that a rear brake disc we can see ?
I can't make out, hence asking other viewers.

It is indeed a disk brake at rear. Nice catch ! The interior color from the previous picture looks great.

Re: New Toyota Fortuner caught on test in Thailand

I can see paddle shifters & engine start/stop button!

I am not sure what information that screen between the tacho & speedo will throw out but I hope it's comprehensive rather then basic. I am assuming that the black area below the LCD display is also a information screen. Blue needles for the speedo & tacho seem like a odd colour choice.

The interiors seem like a great place to spend time in and quality seems good too from the pictures. I think the exteriors can be accepted considering the lovely interiors on offer. Seems like Toyota is doing a BMW by offering the seats in saddle brown leather. I LOVE it!

The V shaped chrome slats on the grille and kink towards the rear are still sore points but like I said, considering the interiors on offer and the fact that we will spend more time looking at the interiors, the exteriors can be accepted.

Re: New Toyota Fortuner caught on test in Thailand

for the rear disc brake, paddle shifters and the start stop button.

Interiors look premium as well

I think we have a winner ,overall.

Have to wait and watch how well it can hold against the competitive 'New endeavour' and 'New Pajero sport'.

Note: Didn't quite like the wood finish around the auto transmission lever but I think one can live with it.

Re: New Toyota Fortuner caught on test in Thailand

As long as it retains the solid chassis based construction, generous GC and similar 4x4 system, i see no harm in the new funky look. I actually like the new design better, slap on a Lexus badge and nobody can say it's a Toyota. I do not like the interiors in the new Corolla, but even with the same design theme the new Fortuner's interiors look good to me, what a refreshing change from the crude basic interiors of the current car. I feel Toyota have done a great job of ridding the utilitarian feel of this vehicle. I just hope they do not raise the prices too much.
