| ![]() Mod Note: Our Fortuner Report has been taken live at this link. Please continue the discussion over on the new thread. Thanks! Toyota has also begun testing the new Fortuner after the Innova. OD has put up photos of what looks like the car is in Thailand, but they are saying they saw it in Banglore which to me, sounds fishy. Pics here http://overdrive.in/news/world-exclu...ting-in-india/ In one of the pics, we can clearly see the Thailand flag as well. Last edited by GTO : 25th January 2017 at 16:55. Distinguished - BHPian ![]() | ![]() These are various spy shots doing rounds; ![]() Hood Scoop is missed out ![]() ![]() ![]() Love the rear 3/4 stance here; ![]() Lets hope Toyota maintains the ladder-frame setup with TNGA, which should keep intact the durability and ruggedness that the Fortuner is already associated with. PS- Really dislike the rims on this mule. Image Source (Thailand) Last edited by karan561 : 22nd July 2014 at 17:25. |

Senior - BHPian | ![]() Looks like they're trying make it look more contemporary. Does anybody know if it will still have so much in common with the Innova? Hope the pricing remains sane when they launch this one |

| ![]() The front end of the Fortuner looks a lot less bulky and more roundish compared to the existing one. The headlights seem slimmer and sleeker too. Revisions to the grill and front bumper are expected with the car, sporting Toyota's new design language, similar to the recently spotted Innova. The Fortuner seems to be shod with a new design, diamond cut 17 inch wheels. The overall side profile seems similar to the outgoing car; however, the rear quarter glass seems to be redesigned. At the rear the tail lights seem to be horizontal, wrap around type which again, seems sleeker and futuristic than the current gen one. The tail gate and bumper are expected to be redesigned too. The rear wiper is smaller and more modern looking. Last edited by Rehaan : 22nd July 2014 at 19:11. Reason: Removing link |

I,m sure the new shape will be like it or leave it shape and it will take some time to get use to it. "While details of the new Fortuner are scarce at the moment, we do know that it will be based on the Toyota New Global Architecture or TNGA platform. This platform will also be the basis for the new Innova as well as the Hilux pickup. Toyota will stick with the ladder-frame setup with TNGA, which has augmented the durability and ruggedness that the Fortuner is already associated with." I,m very upbeat about the sighting of the 2016 Fortuner.

| ![]() Is it just for me the front axles look way behind from the nose in the side view?? ![]() Also the butch looks from rear with the axles clearly visible give it a Truck like look. I love them. Last edited by GTO : 23rd July 2014 at 15:14. Reason: Typo |

These photos came out the same day Tharian spotted the Innova in Bangalore. Only difference was that in Thailand both Innova and Fortuner were spotted. This is the actual source to all pictures: http://www.livelifedrive.com/malaysi...ed-in-thailand

![]() Also no hood scoop, or is it the non turbo petrol thats spotted & the turbo diesel having fitted with a top mounted intercooler will have a hood scoop. Regarding the design, im sure there will be shades of the new Prado (Predator face) coming in to the Fortuner. The interiors need to be revamped completely, with more features & at the same time should feel luxurious (all black interior also welcome) & sturdy. Lets hope for the best ![]() Last edited by karan561 : 22nd July 2014 at 20:31.

| ![]() The fortuner was a decent SUV for the masses a few years ago. I never liked it because of the ride and horrible interiors. Even the exterior styling is becoming an eyesore. Toyota needs to launch the RAV-4 which is a much better car than this. It looks a thousand times better than the Fortuner and has a much better ride quality with better features as well. |

Senior - BHPian | ![]() One thing's for sure. The upcoming Fortuner is going to be edgy in design. Sharp lines, sleek headlamps and a flatter look. Much different from the butch looks of the current generation. Toyota is trying to change its design language from subtle to sharp. They're taking a leaf out of Hyundai's design book. I wouldn't be surprised if the 2015-16? Fortuner ends up looking a lot like the latest iteration of the Corolla, albeit with big fat wheels! Don't know if it'll go down well with the masses. |

| ![]() I think there will be few design inputs from the American spec 4Runner into the Fortuner. Both these vehicles are based on pickups, 4Runner on Tacoma and Fortuner on Hilux, and have 2.7 ltr and 4.0 ltr gasoline engines. I'm sure the designers must have taken cues from the new 2014 4Runner. |

Team-BHP Support ![]() | ![]() About time I say! The current Fortuner was unveiled 10 years back. That's an awfully long shelf-life for the same generation. I hope they address weak points of the current Fortuner, namely the basic interiors, stiff ride & weak brakes. Take care of these and we're talking of the best 25 lakh SUV in the business. |
