Re: Hyundai ix25 Compact SUV caught testing in India. EDIT: Named the Creta

4 AT does not sound enthralling at all. That takes the AT out of my buying list.

One thing that I missed in pics earlier and just noticed is the Shark fin type antenna. This type of antenna is certainly not a SUV thing. This shows Hyundai is trying to put everything in this one.

Hi sabros, I am with you, if Creta comes with 4 speed AT, it is out of my list too. However, while it is still not clear which AT box the Creta will have, please do not hastily take off Creta from your list. Let us at least wait till the specifications come out.

My prediction goes like this - if Creta is priced lower or on par with Verna, it has a probability to get the 4-speed box. But if it is even slightly priced above Verna, it will get the 6-speed box from Elantra.

Don't worry about the shark-fin antenna though, it comes only in the international variant (the pic with shark-fin antenna was most probably the Chinese iX25). Indian version is not getting them. At least all of the spied cars have been spotted with the stub type antenna. So, you can have that issue out of your mind.

Spotted it now without camouflage. Looks bigger than ecosport and taller than duster.

The Creta caught fully unmasked!! Great catch, klassics45.

I am guessing the SUV is on it's way for the official Dealers Unveil & Conference for the Creta scheduled for later today, over the next 3 days.

It looks really handsome and has good street presence. Is that a Bronze/Beige shade, or just the overhead conditions playing tricks?

I can faintly make out the "SX" and the "CRDI" badges in the second picture. Chrome lining on top of the numberplate isn't too gaudy, and looks classy!

Shark-fin antenna on top as well!

Seems like we will get fully-loaded variants in the top trims, similar to the ix25 offerings in China. Way to go, Hyundai India!

You have an eagle eye Bro! I had to look back the original high res picture to figure out the variant. But yes, it is a CRDI in golden brown shade.

It looks like from the picture that sunroof will not be the feature in Creta considering that it is the SX variant! Disappointing!

Is the ground clearance too high. From the picture, it looks like they increased GC for Indian version.

These are looking to be very healthy looking proportions, Seems to be the right height and dimensions . My frame of reference is the Tucson and the ES.

Autocar India reports that Hyundai dealers across India have opened bookings for the Creta. The booking amount is between Rs.40,000-Rs.50,000.

Hyundai dealers have opened bookings for the upcoming Creta small SUV. The booking amount for the upcoming SUV is between Rs 40,000 and Rs 50,000 depending on the region. The Creta, previously known internationally as the iX25, is Hyundai’s entry into the small SUV market.

Excellent scoop brother. I am also from and used to see many camouflaged Cretas plying around our Chennai roads, especially on the Guindy to Sri Perampudur roads. You took the first undisguised pics of the Creta.

Is it just me or does the rear look bulky. It kind of looks like an Ecosport without the spare wheel mounted at the back.

I have a feeling that the Creta can cannabalise the sales of the Duster, which is already selling much lower than before. It would however be a direct rival to the Ford Ecosport and would be an interesting comparison for sure. I think Ford will be scratching their heads for a facelift soon or add more features to stand toe-to-toe with the Hyundai.

Hyundai ix25 Compact SUV caught testing in India. EDIT: Named the Creta

This looks super good.
The alloys are different to the test mules,(though I prefer the diamond cut alloys) The headlights and tail lights look stunning(no DRLs?),extremely well proportioned.
Now if it handles well ,the reliable and refined 1.6 CRDI, and throw in the 6 speed auto at a shock price, it will decimate not just the S Cross but will have competition for breakfast.

It also seems to be a ploy by Hyundai to run these cars undisguised. Clever. It will put on hold any other planned purchases in this segment.

The thread is going from hot to super hot.

On a lighter note, the alloys seem to be the difference between the IX 25 and the global launch of the Creta. Uncontrol.

This is most probably a lower variant(look at the body coloured door handles as compared to chrome ones on the previous page) . The sx variant will have the diamond cut alloys and Drls etc.

Leave aside S-Cross. Think of Terrano and Duster!
