The comparison is not on the beauty front, but the resemblance in side profile with the Swift on these new cross overs. If you cut out the beefed up wheel arches, you can see the rough silhouette of a Swift underneath both these cars from the side.

Otherwise, clearly the ix25 looks way better than the juke any which way you look at it!

Fundamentally the reason for these cars coming is because there is a huge gap between 8-12 sub-4m X-overs to the big guys in the range of 20+.

All I hope is any product which is 4m plus in size, gives decent rear bench space, along with the premium quotient that it plans to bring. If the space aspect is defeated, then the primary objective itself is gone. I think these guys should keep that into account as they enter the Indian market.

There is no point providing a premium product which fails at the first hurdle.

re: Hyundai ix25 Compact SUV caught testing in India. EDIT: Named the Creta

As per the below link the dimensions appear promising.. seems to be wide enough !! Hyundai says is strategically developed for China, is 4,270 mm long, 1,780 mm wide and 1,630 mm tall.

1780 mm wide would mean that it is 15mm wider than Innova !!

Althought the review is in chinese. The video gives a pretty good idea about the ix25. The interiors look very good. I hope Hyundai retains the Chinese version & doesnt develop a ix25 strategically for India.

re: Hyundai ix25 Compact SUV caught testing in India. EDIT: Named the Creta

Hello All,

I had a chance to look at this car in person yesterday at an auto show.

Lets see how the India version translates to when launched.

Iam attaching a few pics here. Please excuse the quality as the lighting was not too appropriate for my camera.

The interior looked pretty dull to me, compared to usual Hyundai standards.

Hi, this is the ix35 aka the Tuscon. This is a notch above the ix25 in size. I don't think Hyundai has any plans of bringing it to India.

My bad, Iam sorry for jumping the gun here and posting incorrect pictures.

Thank You for correcting me.

@ Mods : I would request you to delete the earlier post from me as the pictures posted were not related to the car on discussion.

Cheers,
pdma.

Completely agree with you. A decent spec D category sedan easily touches 18 lakhs and that leaves a huge gap from 10 lakhs to 18 lakhs which these crossovers can fill. People will buy them over C segment cars only if they provide decent space and features.

Hyundai will try to bridge the gap between Ecosport and Duster and may also cut some features offered in China and may most probably not launch the 2.0L variant.

Actually I am surprised that its been offered with a 2L version. Ideally for its size, I always thought the 1.6L was the best possible option.

re: Hyundai ix25 Compact SUV caught testing in India. EDIT: Named the Creta

Got to know form a friend that Hyundai are aggressively localising the vehicle to meet their price targets.

Hope they introduce the 2L petrol with AWD, AT gearbox and all the bells & whistles. Woul be a great highway cruiser for people, like me, who have overall low running.

This seems to be the compact SUV. I thought it would come with a bigger engine though!
