Just a thought.

All I can see is, there is waiting for the Celetio AMT variant due to shortfall I supplies from Fiat for the gearbox (AMT hydraulic unit).

Till this demand is reduced, why are they thinking to launch it in other cars so soon. If the supplies were regular then it is okay, else these models also will be in the waiting line.

Anurag.

What kind of timeline are we looking at by which these would be made available?

I am expecting Alto AMT launch on monday, 02-Nov-2014. Price around 3.5 lakhs on road.

Celerio AMT has a waiting period of 3 months in Hyderabad.

and AT swift 1.4 will be the perfect thing. Indian hatchback segment is pretty exciting and buyers dont mind shelling out 10 lakhs on hatch backs now
With the same interior space and non-existent boot space it will be a hard sell. What makes sense is a brand new model placed above the Swift with better everything to compete with the i20 Elite and the upcoming Jazz.

In Maruti's scheme of things where does one of the most practical cars on Indian roads aka Ritz stand? No new, no updates and nobody even talks about it here.

Maruti Suzuki is working on an AMT-equipped version of the WagonR Stingray.

An AT version of Wagon-R which they should have had a long time back. The sooner the better in this case. To me they adopted the strategy of getting AT to less successful cars. They should have had it on Wagon-R and Estillo.

Re: Scoop data on the Alto K10, WagonR AMT & more

^^^ If this rumour is true, then it's a good strategy. StingRay is not selling as expected, maybe because people are not considering the extra money worth it. If Maruti plonks AMT in it, that will give it a push in right direction, a superbly practical car such as WagonR coupled with AMT will be scooped up by a large number.

Is Maruti reading my posts? LOL. This is what I posted in July 2013:

An AT could have been the Stingray's USP. If you want AT get the Stingray. A regular buyer will find it difficult to justify the extra price for the Stingray (i.e. if they price it higher) since he is effectively getting the same package.

K10 with 4 speed AT in a spacious hatch like Wagon-R is a very ideal package.

Any updates on the below:

1) By when could the Alto get AMT?

2) Any updates/upgrades for Celerio AMT variant with safety features?

Shall be jumping into the AMT car market by April/May.

Same here, I'm just waiting for the safety features to start pouring in.
After they're there, a bolt/zest AMT with revotron would kill the competition.
In the Maruti stable, the swift might get it, but then, better buy a GT for that price.
A safe AMT celerio or bolt is the need of the hour.

Which cars are you looking at?

Are you talking about Alto AMT or WagonR AMT? I am waiting for the WagonR AMT more than anything else.

The Alto AMT has been on sale for more than 2 months dude. We even have an official review

Oops! OMG!

Thanks for the link. I was thinking it was the regular Alto K10 with the MT.

Then wait is to see if safety features are added to these cars in the AMT variant or no.

4 months on since the news broke out, are we getting closer to launch? Haven't seen any updates in the press recently.
