Long story short - nothing conclusive yet on the probable launch timelines.

As launch nears 2015 Ertiga spied again.

Ertiga facelift speculated to launch in May /June. Feature rich variant to debut. AMT could be a variant in the offing , could be tune d to deliver 25 km/l.

There would be no changes to the power system under the hood, the face lifted Ertiga will possess the same 1.4-litre petrol engine and the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine which produces 94bhp and 89bhp. The petrol version is likely to get an AMT version as well, will have to wait for more info on this. The Maruti Ertiga 2015 will come with new Z+ trim with Auto Climatic AC, Smart play music system with navigation, Reverse Parking Sensor ,I-Key Entry with push start button and leather seat upholstery with leather wrapped steering wheel & gear knob. Maruti could put V+ badge for V(ABS)

That chrome is ugh! But then, majority of Indians love chrome; thankfully, I am not amongst those. I sat in an Ertiga today for the first time, and I am mighty impressed with it.

OT: if someone launches a toothbrush with chrome handle, it would sell in huge numbers!

What is stopping Maruti Suzuki from getting the WagonR AMT to India? Is it still supply constraint with the AMT unit?

Stingray variant as seen here with AMT is a very practical combo.

How will be the pricing?

Current Stingray vxi(o) is ~4.7 ex showroom.

Other AMTs from MS stable -
Alto K10 VXI AMT 3.9
Celerio LXI AMT 4.4
celerio VXI AMT 4.7

From their feature set, it seems none of them have ABS+Airbags. If MS were to introduce a ABS+Airbags+AMT variant of Stingray, I am guessing they will price it around 5~5.25 ex-showroom. Any thoughts?

The Wagon R is so much a better car than the Alto k10 for not a lot more money. The OTR price of alto k10 amt is about Rs.5 lakh. The wagon r amt OTR price would be most likely a lakh more - about Rs.6 lakh.

For just a lakh more - you get such a better car. More spacious, easy ingress and egress, more storage. Don't know why anyone should buy a k10 amt in such a scenario. Especially as monthly payments would not be that much more.

If price is really really an issue and you are in a crunch and can't spend the extra lakh - then the Tata Nano amt with an OTR price of about Rs.3.5 lakh is so much better- a lot more car for the money and you get to save Rs.1.5 lakh.

I just hope that the wait time for wagon r amt is not a long one. I think the wagonr amt will be a huge hit.

I agree but at the same time the AMT units are to be produced sufficiently so that the back logs are decreased.

Currently sales of AMT equipped cars are suffering due to production constraints. As time passes by, things should fall in line for the AMT.
