Thank you TSK, yeis, Moralfibre, autozealot, Rtech, falcon and especially EVO6 for the elaborate reply.

From EVO6' information, the Camry obviously falls in the higher octroi bracket. If the difference is only 1.5 - 2% in octroi, I would rather get the car registered in Bombay itself and save the hassle.

If we yet do go ahead with Pune registration, is there any reliable RTO agent who can complete the paperwork the same day we get to Pune?

Also, how much is the entry tax to register a brand new car in Mumbai?

You can call this Guy called Sanjay , I used him a couple of weeks back to transfer my car onto the company's name , though he got the work done it was delayed by two days and he is sometimes a little difficult to get hold of.

His name is Sanjay - Mob no is 9422029893 you can give him my ref ( Ranjit -swift transferred to company name ) not sure if he will remember me though...
