Re: Scoop - Fiat Punto Evo T-Jet coming up!

I wish we also get the 1.6 MJD version of the Punto sometime down the line with that meaty 128 bhp and 320 NM torque figures. So we have one of each, just like the VW GT twins.

I thought the projected date for the EVO T-jet was in October 2015. Has this been pre-poned or am I missing something here ?

....
The news articles for the Abarth launch mentions that the Abarth brand will be launched in August starting with the 595 Competizione. No news as of now of the exact launch date for the Abarth Punto, all dates are just speculations I believe.

The car rides lower than the standard car.
Haha. You could not hold it in any more . I'm still so jealous after I heard about this drive !

They really need to launch this fast. Fiat says too much and does too little !

Re: Scoop - Fiat Punto Evo T-Jet coming up!

Fiat does not say very much, it is the 'fans', 'the partisans', 'the critics' and 'the cynics', most of them not even (prospective) owners, who are constantly chattering/gossiping/prognosticating about Fiat. Including yours truly!

They're pretty much sticking to and doing what they said they would in terms of product and variant launches in their prospective and public plan, both last year and the year before that (when the brand re-launch+new independent dealers/FASS happened.)

For better, or worse.

Oh.. Come on. How long do we keep drooling over the same product in different variations over and over again. Is it that difficult to design a new car. :banghead: FIAT should at least borrow an outer shell from TATA and put its own machinery into it. It would at least look fresh.
As of now, it's like admiring your lady over the years in different looks and still drooling. Well, why men want different cars, is also attributed to the fact that they can't /won't change their ladies

There wont be a 6 speed transmission. Its 5 speed with 2nd and 3rd tweaked ratios of the existing gear box. I hope the throw quality has improved and the throw shortened.

Why FIAT is so slow to introduce newer cars/variants

No matter how tall the gears will have to be now, 5 speeds are always too less esp for a powerful car as this.

I don't know what Fiat is upto, because with the horrible chrome, disastrously sticking out exhaust tip, stock Punto design, and 5 speeds.... it clearly resonates its weirdo outlook for the Indian market.

Basically we are left with another affordable Fiat launch that I was initially interested about, but not so much anymore.

Re: Scoop - Fiat Punto Evo T-Jet coming up!

The Punto Abarth and the Avventura T-Jet variants have been snapped from up close by a Rush Lane reader in Pune.

Quote:
While Punto clearly has all the bearings of Abarth branding like sporty alloy wheels, decals on the lower part of the door and T-Jet badge, Avventura test mule is devoid of any noticeable visual changes compared to the regular variant.

Interior of Punto Abarth is finished in full black color theme where as Avventura T-Jet receives dual-tone dashboard with grey Alcantara inserts. Dual-tone brown and beige seat covers were reported to carry Avventure logo. Save for the aforementioned visual features, both cars are identical to their respective regular variants.

Here are more images of the Avventura Abarth. A sticker indicates the power produced by the engine.

Look at the width of those tyres! Overkill perhaps, but they look really good on the car.

Even though I'm extremely unlikely to buy this, I'm definitely going for a test drive and will envy anyone who does buy one.

Not the Avventura, but I'll probably be tempted to exchange my Evo for the Abarth Evo

Not even a remote chance of me even thinking of buying the especially same machine, just for the change of heart that it gets. Maybe first is a couple of years too late for this trail. Too many great looking machines around with decent specs to draw my attention away
