I had a hilarious experience recently where a customer care executive from Nexa called me up and was thanking me for being a MS customer and driving the Dzire (which I had sold 5 months back to True Value itself as an exchange to my SCross) With the initial conversation I was assuming it is kind of a feedback call on my Dzire similar to an exit HR interview! Then she starts off saying they have opened up NEXA showrooms with Scross and baleno on sale. I should think about exchanging the dzire and buy anyone of them! I asked her from where she is calling from and she said from Nexa customer care and I told her to check her records first before calling clients and wasting their time without even knowing there clientele base! Premiumess can't stop only with good showrooms and well dressed sales team. It has to be throughout end to end!

OT: I am yet to find a separate bay or attention to nexa sold cars in the regular MASS! I hope the service centres as promised gets opened asap!

Apart from Surakshaa, the other one's are Bimal, Mandovi, Kalyani, Pratham, can't remember the 5th one. Mangalore has 2 Nexa Dealerships, there are 2 outlets In my city. Does Mysore have one ? Can any BHPians from Mysore confirm this.

Partially OT:

When I visited the Pratham Service Center they had a bay with the board NEXA but a Celerio and Alto was lined up for service. Looks like the board is just put there for the heck of it. Thanks to volumes, they cannot keep them idle only for the cars sold through Nexa.

Same is the case with Pune service centers. All Nexa bays are used only if there is an SCross or Baleno. Once, I had even seen an SCross waiting for its turn, because Alto K10 was was being serviced in the Nexa bay.

Maruti are still to set up proper service facility. All old dealers have been given a Naxa franchise each, and then allowed to get on with it. Take the case of proper brand identity, has any Ford Customer been found rubbing shoulders with a Lincoln man, or a Chevy guy sharing space with a Caddy guy. I am sure the same is the case with Honda and Acura, or VW, Audi, and Porsche. This Nexa implementation is a Joke.

Is it true that the NEXA stores are owned by MarutiS and then sort-of leased or franchised out to the dealers? Or is that '3000crores' plan from MarutiS not yet under implementation: they made a big announcement of it a few quarters ago to investors, the idea of course being to corner real estate/locations, increase risk-free margins while de-risking dealers, even as dealers' margins are further squeezed in Maruti's favour?

Just designed to overwhelm the market on THE front that determines brands' success in India: dealership location, number and sheer-scale, with quality being very much a function over time of dealer-sustained profitability. What better way to kill so many birds with one stone than to directly own the most expensive and risky part of the dealership business, namely: real estate, collecting franchisee and property rental fees from dealers instead.

As they implement this, NEXA or not, imo MarutiS will have achieved a darn-near lock-down on their 50+/- % marketshare, and more to the point: their near-global-best net-margins in India of around 14-15%, at a minimum, imo. All else (like products, launches) being equal, which they very much are foreseeably, no?

While I attended the opening ceremony of one of the new NEXA outlets 2 weeks back, I learnt that there will be NEXA specific service centers that will come up in next few months.

So they seem to have taken the joke seriously this time :).

Let's wait and watch.

This is not a good advertisement for Nexa.

(happened at a Nexa dealership located at Golf Course Road, Gurgaon)

Since I would sell one of my cars, I decided to get the value of the one I had driven in (a Hyundai Verna) checked.
After checking my car physically, one of the guys tells me that he has to test drive it. I said yes and made the massive mistake of not sitting with him, and instead keep talking to the head of the showroom, who had come to escort us outside.

The guy was gone for approximately 10 – 15 minutes and I got a little worried if he’d banged my car or something. Just as we were about to call him, I saw my car around the corner.
The guy parked some 50 meters from us and even from there I could hear a LOUD whistling noise coming out of the engine. He walks up to us and says “Sir your car’s engine is fine, but the turbo is about to go”.

Now this was shocking to me since I did not find a SINGLE issue with the turbo before that.
I’d gotten my car serviced from Autopsyche, and even they’d not mentioned any problems with the turbo. I’d recently hit a 120kph on the highway and faced ZERO issues.
I thought the guy was trying to reduce the valuation of the car by telling me some shit story. So me and my wife decided to walk away.

As I drove out, I found the car to be extremely sluggish. So I stopped in front of the staff and asked them how hard had they driven the car for it to suddenly act so weird? Anyhow, not wanting to speak with these guys anymore I decided to go home as it was Karva Chauth, my wife was fasting and had started to feel unwell.
I must have driven 50 meters on the main road when we noticed INSANE amounts of smoke coming out of the car, while the engine shuddered. We panicked, thinking that something had caught fire and immediately got out of the car.

There was smoke everywhere and I decided to call the Nexa showroom staff to understand what exactly had they done and why was my car behaving like it was. The staff arrived a good 15 minutes later. I handed my keys to them and asked them to check and tell me what was wrong. They started the car and immediately there was smoke EVERYWHERE. It smelled like burning rubber.

The guy who drove my car earlier every calmly told me “Sir, I told you that your turbo is about to stop working”.
HOW is it possible that I drive a perfectly functional car into the Nexa showroom and suddenly my turbo stops functioning after one of their staff drives it for 10-15 minutes?

My guess would be that he repeatedly revved the car hard, redlined it and then shut down the engine immediately on purpose so that the turbo ceases. Anyone who knows turbo diesels will know that there should be a cooling down of 30-60 seconds after driving hard in order to avoid turbo failure, and I stick to that rule without exception.

Anyhow. We were stuck in the middle of the road and the Nexa showroom staff refused to take any responsibility. I asked them to have the damage repaired, and they refused point blank.
I took a picture of the guy who test drove my car, and the sales advisor. They realised what I was doing, and when I tried to take more pictures, the other guys started turning their faces away.

I asked the guy who had driven my car for his name and he refused to give it to me.
By now my wife was feeling really unwell, and I wanted to return home. I asked the Nexa showroom manager to get my car towed to a workshop and get it repaired yet again. Refused.
Finally I told them that I would be complaining about this on social media. The guys simply turned around and walked away.

I drove back home at the speed of 10 kph, with enough smoke coming out of it that I had zero visibility of the cars behind me.
Getting home I realised that there was engine oil flowing out of the exhaust. I could do nothing at that late an hour as all mechanics were closed and my wife was feeling extremely unwell.
I complained on social media overnight and got a call from the Maruti Suzuki office in the morning, taking details of my complaint. I then got a call from a lady working at the same Nexa showroom we had visited. She asked me what was it that I wanted, and I told her that all I wanted was my car to be repaired. She said that she’d get back “after discussing with her seniors”.

That was around 11:30AM yesterday.
I haven’t heard from the Nexa showroom any further. The Nexa social presence refuses to revert to my queries.

Basically, I have nowhere to go, but to shoulder the expense of the damage caused by the Nexa showroom team. It will cost me at least 60,000 – 70,000 rupees to get the turbo replaced in addition to other charges like getting the car towed. Hopefully there hasn’t been any other damage. That I will only come to know once the car is checked by a mechanic.

I am writing this partly, in hope that it gets shared enough for Maruti Suzuki / Nexa to be forced to act and get my car repaired, and partly because no one should have to go through what I did. Simply because I made the mistake of trusting a seemingly “premium” brand.

Edit: Got a call from Nexa marketing, and will be meeting him to resolve this issue on Sunday.
REALLY appreciate everyone’s support here people. You guys rock!

What a joke. This should have been a pre-requisite. If the dealer wanted to refer some resource expensive job to a normal Maruti facility, that may have been acceptable.

Maruti have messed up big time, probably under pressure from the existing dealerships, and must take the blame on the nose. Who is to blame Maruti-Suzuki.

Now this mess will impact the arrival of Lexus and Acura for starters.

AFAIK, NEXA dealerships are awarded to existing dealerships only, and in this case, there wont be pressure or lobbying for service centers. Its just like another branch opened by the same dealer. Moreover, considering that the cars sold under NEXA are not that old, so as to require running repair and major servicing, exclusive NEXA service centers are not late to the party. Hence its not a real mess up IMHO.

Definitely late to the game.
It's the initial impression of dedicated, 'premium' service which would have strengthened the Nexa brand and maybe increase sales as well.

Nexa will get 3 models in 2017.

Along with Ignis and Baleno RS, the yet-to-be-revealed Ciaz facelift will join Maruti’s premium showroom chain by April. 2017 Swift and Dzire likely to be retained with the regular Maruti Suzuki dealerships!

Nexa dealers are set to begin the new year with a bang. Maruti Suzuki has lined up a salvo of launches for its premium showroom channel, starting with the much awaited Ignis, in January. The introduction of the hatchback-crossover will be followed by the sporty Baleno RS variant in February. Interestingly, the Ciaz facelift will be pulled out from the regular Maruti showroom chains and will exclusively retail through Nexa when it goes on sale around April

I don't know if anyone else has faced this issue, but here's my experience with booking a Baleno in Pune.

I hail from Ratnagiri (a town 300km away from Pune). Currently there's no Nexa in Ratnagiri, but there's one coming up in a couple of months. Because of the long waiting period I thought I would book the car in Pune for time-being and meanwhile if the Nexa in Ratnagiri is ready I would book the car there. I booked the Baleno in one of the Nexa showrooms in Pune (say A). I clearly mentioned it to the SA that I will be registering the car in Ratnagiri. I was told a waiting period of 27 months. A few days later I thought of visiting another Nexa (say B) just to see if the waiting period is the same and if they give me a better price for my current car.

After the initial talks about the car and a TD, it came down to the topic of booking the car. As I mentioned to the SA that I will be registering the car in Ratnagiri and not in Pune, what he said surprised me. He said we cannot take bookings for your region. Earlier it was allowed because the Nexa network was limited. But now there's a Nexa showroom in Kolhapur (a city closer to Ratnagiri, some 100 km away), and all the bookings for that region are handled by Kolhapur Nexa now. They had even transferred the bookings they had to Kolhapur Nexa after it was opened. And all this was told to me even before I mentioned that I had already booked the car with Nexa A in Pune. I then told him about the booking I had already done and that the SA in Nexa A hadn't informed me about this. According to the SA of Nexa B, this was a clear policy by Nexa and the Nexa A SA should have informed me earlier.

He also made me talk to his senior who explained me in more detail. According to them there's a possibility that Nexa A will just keep my booking with them, and by the end of the waiting period they will just cancel my booking, saying they just came to know about this policy of Nexa and ask me to book the car in Kolhapur or Ratnagiri Nexa (if it is ready by that time). I was confused and felt cheated. I called up the Nexa customer helpline and asked if there actually is a policy by which dealers in particular region are allowed to sale cars only in certain regions. I was informed there's no such policy that exists but there's a possibility of this happening when the Nexa network is sufficiently spread. Now people are buying cars from Nexa in other states too. This information added to my confusion. I mean why would the Nexa B people want to lose a booking if there's no such policy. I feel the chances of they misguiding me are slim, since they didn't even know I had a booking elsewhere when they informed me about this.

I will be talking to the SA in Nexa A soon. But before that I thought some information and suggestions from fellow BHPians would be useful.
Thank you in advance.

After reading a lot about the Ignis, got the urge to go and see it first hand. Couple of weeks ago, I'd seen a new Nexa outlet coming up on the Outer Ring Road near Banaswadi/Rammurthy Nagar and I also remember seeing a flex board sign for the inauguration but forgot the name!
Tried searching on the net but did not find any Nexa outlet near Banaswadi (wanted to call them to find out if the Ignis was on display), so finally headed there to find out it's a new Nexa outlet by Garuda Autokraft. Even the Nexa website does not show up this outlet in the Bangalore showrooms search result.
And they had just a couple of Balenos inside, the Ignis is expected at 4pm this evening with a showroom launch at 5pm.
The RM was well dressed in a grey colored suit and rattled off "features" about the Baleno (though I told him my interest was just to see the Ignis), then switched to Ignis information. He kept saying "AGS" and I told him yes, it's the AMT technology from Maruti and he wouldn't agree and was comparing it with the Baleno. I told him the CVT in the Baleno is not the same as the AMT/AGS in the Ignis and he finally agreed to disagree with me - phew!
Five minutes into the discussion, I found he wasn't very comfortable conversing in English so I switched to Kannada and he was so happy :)

Couple of pictures of the outlet:
