Suzuki's new hatchback (Baleno) & SUV (Ignis) teased - Unveiling in March 2015

Source: http://www.worldcarfans.com/11502068...f-geneva-debut

"Suzuki has released the first teaser images for the iK-2 and iM-4 concepts that will be unveiled during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show in March this year."

Ik-2 seems to be in the production-ready body, and is the YRA spied earlier here.

IM-4 is in concept avatar. Is it the XA-Alpha (YBA)? The C-pillar seems different from the spy pics. Or, is it the initial sketch Suzuki prepared for YBA, and then they made it more production friendly?

The YRA Silhouette looks uncannily similar to the Elite i20.

As for the Jimmy, looks sort of dis proportioned to me. Honestly, not too impressed at first glance!!

iK-2

The iK-2 is an ideal compact sized car, developed with an innovative theme of “Harmonised Force”. By combining all of the key elements expected in a car of this size the new model raises compact car values to the limit.

iM-4

The iM-4 is an iconic mini 4x4 developed with a concept theme of “Shape the Inspiration”. It is an all-new proposal from Suzuki, packed with its compact 4x4 DNA and new technologies as well as distinctive styling that will give real inspiration to drivers.

Detailed information will be disclosed at the Suzuki press conference, scheduled on
Tuesday, 3rd March 2015 at 11:15 am CET

iM -4 will be most likely having link in design cues to the YBA.

The SUV teaser looks more like an XA Alpha than the YBA. IMO, Maruti should bring both to India!

Suzuki are loading up their show stands with two mystery new concepts. The first, the iK-2 is a B-segment hatchback that will reportedly slot above the Swift - This could be the YRA

iM-4 is a distinctive mini-4X4 that the firm claims isn;t a replacement for the Jimny, but a lifestyle small crossover with genuine off-road prowess - A new Compact SUV

Really like the iK2/YRA just hope the one we get in India is built just as well as what sells in Europe like any premium product ought to be.

iM4 looks pretty neat as well has a hint of the GV's clamshell bonnet.

The im-4 is the mini SUV based on Wagon-R underpinnings, something like a Mini Pajero or Jimmy but based on monocoque structure.

re: Suzuki's new hatchback (Baleno) & SUV (Ignis) teased - Unveiling in March 2015

Suzuki has mentioned that im-4 is an 'iconic 4x4'. So, it has to be the iconic Jimny (Gypsy successor). Imo, it will be a shorter than yba car with 4x4 capabilities. In India, they need a 4m 2wd suv to compete with Ecosport. So, they need yba as well.

Suzuki used the monocoque structure instead of ladder-on-frame in their latest Vitara. The same may apply to this car as well.

re: Suzuki's new hatchback (Baleno) & SUV (Ignis) teased - Unveiling in March 2015

More details emerge ,

IK-2 - it will be positioned above both the A-segment Celerio and B-segment Swift, and under the C-segment S-Cross. It's about the size the Corolla and Mazda3.

iM-4 - Global release in 2016 and will take on Nissan's Juke , Mazda CX-3.The iM-4 is all-new and fits between Jimny and Vitara.

A new 1.2-litre turbo-charged petrol triple that's expected to power the Swift -- potentially in a born-again Swift GTi -- and perhaps could power the iK-2 and iM-4.

IM4 definity look good, but doesn't it overlap with Scross?
It has a uncanny similarity to Honda Vezel.

'S Cross' will take on Renault's Duster, Nissan's Terrano and Hyundai's upcoming ix25, while the YBA which (will have design cues from iM-4) will take on Ford's EcoSport.

This will be a sub-4m car. The overlap is between scross and vitara. Both are priced similarly in international markets.

The new leaked image of YRA shows significant changes to the head lamp as well as front bumper compared to the earlier spyshots. The new one is more "harmonized" as Suzuki says, IMO.

The link says the 2 cars - Ik-2 and Im-4 - will be unveiled tomorrow.

Well the YRA in concept form may have those different bumpers and the car we saw earlier in Delhi could be the final version, what say?
