Re: 2015 Volkswagen Jetta Facelift : A Close Look

I was given quote of 20,10,000 for Jetta manual comfort line 2015 diesel model @Hyderabad. Is it worth it? No particular preference to go for diesel, I am fine with taking 2016 petrol for that price. Monthly running would be not more than 1000KM. So does it make sense to go for 2015 diesel? Thanks.

Prefer the diesel if possible, Much more drivable and also fun to drive compared to the 1.4 TSI, Not saying the petrol version is bad but if your anyways getting a Jetta, If you have a budge in which you can get the diesal why not get it? Check the 2015 diesel properly, Mostly there shouldn't be an issue, It all depends on what you prefer, More discounts or the latest version of the car and a newly manufactured one.

You need to check the car properly, Check the tyres, Engine bay, Visible wires, Any rat droppings nearby the car, Check all the features of the car if they are working fine, No errors lights are lit on the instrument cluster..

If its all clear, You can go for it.

I don't understand this at all!! I thought the MQB platform was introduced to bring down the production costs! I even read somewhere on this forum that the next gen Polo would be cheaper than the current gen.

Re: 2015 Volkswagen Jetta Facelift : A Close Look

Makes sense. The top end is touching close to the next segment and their sales numbers are not that impressive.

The MQB will reduce cost by developing or manufacturing more models on same platform than reducing cost of design or development of one model. From a manufacturer stand point MQB will help increase their margins and reducing price of the car only hurts the purpose. Thats my take but i must be wrong

Re: 2015 Volkswagen Jetta Facelift : A Close Look

I was just about to ask the same. I've been considering either the Jetta or The Octavia for a while now and this news report is making me even more confused. Can this be confirmed? Or is it still worth to Buy the Jetta and own it for 4-5 years considering it may very well be discontinued by next year?

Re: 2015 Volkswagen Jetta Facelift : A Close Look

Depends on what you are worried about. Resale value for german cars will be paltry compared to say a toyota irrespective of the model.

If you are worried about support you dont have to for the service centers will continue to operate for their line of all other models.

You will have to choose what you will like and not worry about what can happen after few years. I have a 2010 Jetta, 6 years and i still enjoy every second. Its MKV and definitely an old model.

I tend agree with this news. If we have to go by the Jetta 2017 launch specs, the base price would shoot up above 20 L and might come near Superb. And that is also one of the factors I decided to buy Jetta now. And sure will keep it for more than 6-8 years. Unlike Mitsubishi, VW will never shut down and I hope to get service and spares support.

Re: 2015 Volkswagen Jetta Facelift : A Close Look

I have had a talk with a VW SA who is also a close friend of mine now, He tells me the Passat will come first followed by jetta later next year by Mid, I really have a feeling VW will get it here sooner or later..

I am worried about The Availability of Parts and Service Support. I am not Looking at the resale value as its pretty pointless when you own the car for 4 or more years !

Re: 2015 Volkswagen Jetta Facelift : A Close Look

I am in the same delima. I was looking at choosing between the VW Jetta 2.0 DSG and the Skoda Octavia 1.8 TSI DSG. Even though I was initially leaning towards the Octavia for it's power, latest platform and features, there was something about the Jetta that kept me hooked to considering it over the Octavia.

I finally made up my mind and was going all out for the Jetta until I got to know that there is an updated version expected in 2017 and so decided to wait. Now there are reports of VW not getting the 2017 Jetta to India at all. The Toyota Altis is feature rich and cheaper too but I know for sure it's not going to be anywhere close to the Jetta or Octavia in terms of driving pleasure. Even test drove the Cruze and it just didn't excite me.

Since I already own a VW and a couple of Skodas, I prefer the VW service experience waaaay more than that of Skoda. Really confused!!

You shouldn't be as there are approx 9000 current gen Jettas (facelifted and pre-facelifted) running on the streets of the country - average of 1800 per year, 5 years since the launch.

Now that's a huge number and spares shouldn't be an issue.
