Re: The next-generation BMW X3 (G01)

Yesterday did a TD of new X3 @ Bird.

Surprisingly they are proudly charging 90K for logistics & Handling . They are aware of Supreme court ruling, but still ....

Cheers

Don't know if there are any legal issues but even when they negotiate a fixed price, they will reduce ex-showroom and raise a different invoice for logistics. I have a hunch that even BMW is charging them extra for freight. Remember its a global practice to charge extra.

Not 60 yet, no Volvo or Audi in consideration for me. It has to be BMW Mercedese or Lexus.

Re: The next-generation BMW X3 (G01)

Looks like BMW has silently added another variant to X3, BMW India website now shows three diesel version: Expedition, Xline & Luxury line.
Key features that Xline gets on top of expedition are Mocha leather, sports steering with paddle shifters, front sport seats, better sound system, LED fog lamps, GPS navigation & Apple carplay. Priced at 54.75Lakhs in Bangalore.
Much needed to attract buyers who find expedition bare bone & luxury line a tad too expensive.

This 90k is totally illegal. They'll give you an explanation saying that it included 48% GST but that is not your problem. Please complain to the transport commissioner of your state should you go ahead with the purchase.

The next-generation BMW X3 (G01)

The car dealers can not charge the logistics charges . Recently I bought Lexus . I brought to the notice of the dealer , the relevant provisions along with the Notification by the Transport Commissioner , Delhi .
The dealer promptly waved off Rs 1 lac which they were charging as the logistics and handling charges . Be firm , the dealers, in law , can not levy those charges

They launched the X4 with the 30d and the X5 will have the 30d too. IMO 90% of Indian buyers don't care about the engine/performance, which is very sad. Thats why the Merc GLE sells mostly with the 2litre something engine which feels super-underpowered to drive.
I was waiting for the 30d engine too in the X3, but I don't think they will make it happen. I drove the new X3 with the 20d engine and wasn't impressed. The 20d engine is just about ok on the X3 [which is the same size as the second gen X5 btw].

My X1 has the 20d engine it and feels much more spritely to drive because of the lower weight.
