They displayed Kicks at Forum Mall Bangalore yesterday. The rear looks good, the front is a letdown! But its great on the inside as I've driven the UAE model. So go for it!

Absolutely no impact on this thread at all. Nissan has to up the ante on its branding and marketing if it has to make some impact else see it going the captur way. While I do think it looks more suv, better specced etc, lack of Automatic at launch is a damper for me. If captur still does not get it, then guess kicks will not get it anytime soon.

So the only choice for people who only want automatic at this segment remains Creta or Compass/ tuscon if you are willing to stretch more.

Kicks looks really nice both interior & exterior. But, if it’s going up against Creta (segment leader), Nissan has to be cautious and shouldn’t mess up like their sister company Renault did with Captur with their tactics such as advertisement and other checklists before it hits the market which is around the corner.

Car looks promising. But, if the pricing doesn’t go right, it will suffer the same fate as the Captur which is also a good vehicle AFAIK. Interior looks laid out well. Let’s see how Nissan will manage post sales service and their fate in India seems a bit volatile with less sales. Terrano suffered a major failure. Hope Kicks kicks the sales number for Nissan.

Cars touted as city movers and without automatic options are probably not going to fly off the shelves. I think they still have the choice but what's preventing Nissan/Renault from bringing in a proper automatic?

This car looks very promising indeed. Nissan should market this car well enough and make sure the dealership and after sales experience is taken care of. I am very impressed with the exteriors and particularly the interiors of this car which looks premium and attractive for this segment. I think Nissan has loaded the car with good set of features, the only thing missing is probably the Auto-dimming IVRM which is really a bad miss from Nissan.

I think the Renault DCI motor is probably not as refined or powerful as the Hyundai diesel but it is not a big issue if Nissan is able to provide good sound insulation and refinement. This car looks to be a very good effort from Nissan unlike their previous half-baked attempts. If priced aggressively, this looks to be a worthy competitor to the Creta.

The 110 ps is some serious fun out on the highways and can very well give the Creta a tough fight. This duster platform is one of the most capable platform wrt driving dynamics as well, easily better than the Creta. So on power and fun to drive factor I don't find the 110 ps version lacking. Yes the low end isn't as linear as the Creta 1.6 but still livable.

Refinement is definitely Hyundai's USP but the Captur wasn't bad per se wrt refinement so I expect the Kicks also to be at least as good as CAPTUR in that regard.

Nissan Kicks bookings open on December 14, 2018

Nissan has revealed more details about the upcoming Kicks SUV. Bookings for the new model will open on December 14, 2018.



The Nissan Kicks measures 4,384 mm in length, 1,813 mm in width and 1,656 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,673 mm and it comes with a 50-litre fuel tank.



In terms of styling, the Kicks has a dual-tone exterior with a V-motion chrome grille upfront flanked by LED projector headlamps with LED signature lamps and a dual-tone front bumper. At the rear, it has boomerang-shaped tail lamps. The SUV features a floating roof design and has roof rails, body side mouldings and skid plates. It rides on 17-inch machined alloy wheels.



On the interior, the new Kicks comes with a dual-tone dashboard with an 8-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system that has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity options along with voice recognition. The car comes with features like Nissan Connect, automatic climate control, 360-degree camera and rain sensing wipers.



The Nissan Kicks will be available with 2 engine options - 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol which produces 105 BHP @ 5,600 rpm and 142 Nm of torque @ 4,000 rpm paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel that makes 108 BHP @ 3,850 rpm and 240 Nm @ 1,750 rpm and is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Ideal size to compete with Creta. In fact, its bigger than Creta

Kicks vs Creta:
Wheelbase: 2673 * 2590

Dimensions
Kicks: 4,384 mm L x 1,813 mm W x 1,656 mm H
Creta: 4,270 mm L x 1,780 mm W x 1,630 mm H

Fuel tank capacity is lesser by 5l to the Creta's 55l.

I wonder what USP this has over the Captur, which crashed and burned. Correct me if I am wrong, but they are basically the same in a fancier skin right? There has been such little advertisement for the Kicks and I don't suppose they've even done a pricing list either. This is a tough segment to crack, and the leader from Hyundai still stands at #1!
