Its high time they have an automatic version in the XUV 500. Badly need in our congested cities. Why cannot M&M bring out an automatic version? I they do so am sure more people will buy it. Even an automatic SCORPIO should be available.

When every other manufacture is shifting to automatics, they should too.

No, the facelift models retain the non-sliding second row seats.

This was also mentioned previously (link) based on reports from a friend. This image concludes it.

Are we sure that the CD/DVD slot has been removed?

Mistakes and missing attention to details is not new in Mahindra documentation. My Extended Warranty documentation for XUV mentions XYLO at a couple of places. I had earlier pointed out a image which showed W8 screen with W6 buttons.

PS: My personal opinion is that the CD slot is indeed gone.

Looking at the evolution of the technology and where AMT has come in, given the traffic congestion, and the affordability of this technology, it is a trend that we have reckoned. Surely we will have an automatic transmission option on the XUV500 going forward.

On the XUV 500 Hybrid:

It will see commercial daylight. We are working on the hybrid and with the government policy in place for hybrid vehicles, we continue to work on that.

I just did a test drive some time back, the interiors felt good, the blue backlight looks so much better - I personally feel the earlier version looked tacky. The drive felt better than the earlier variant, especially the brakes; but it still feels like a SUV and does not give you the confidence of a car when driving fast. The reversing camera is a boon. Few snaps which i took, booked W10 AWD in mostly sunset orange, will decide the colour in a few days.
Have to mention the touchscreen system is really good, its really not like the current one, speakers are the same though, interior quality is improved at some parts.
Sunroof is win win too.

Exisiting XUV owners : - Has anyone test drove the new XUV and noted any improvement in the suspension ? Has the low speed ride quality improved ?

In the images on the official site, the interiors look like black-and-white instead of the claimed black-and-beige. Hope in reality its a fairly dark shade of beige which would be easier to maintain as compared to off-white.

Good observation.
It has indeed vanished as they replaced the reflective top-piece and silver strips with a matte finish cowl in the new design.

This is one irritant that was present right from day 1 of the XUV and I am happy that Mahindra managed to take the feedback and solve the problem after 3 years and 9 months of the original launch.

i hope we can get the ECU update to the older vehicles. The current 3rd gear is very lethargic on uphills and slopes.
