W10 does come in tuscan red along with all other colours. The sunroof is clearly visible in the pics.

Get those chromes around the fog lamps and that black thingy around them body coloured. You then have a more matured and neutral looking vehicle. That is what I would do even before it’s delivery.

If I do go ahead with XUV, it will be a w6 so chrome wont be a problem for me. Had a query if someone can guide me. W6 is costing 14.5 lacs OTR and does not have alloy wheels. What if I buy a w4 which costs 13 lac here in delhi? I can spend another one lac on the after market features, out of which I do want alloys, fog lamps and a decent dvd player with headrest screens. Can someone tell me the approx cost of these and also what else can I add in that budget and what important features I would still be missing out on?

Re: Mahindra XUV500 facelift revealed in spy shots EDIT: Now launched at Rs. 11.21 lakh

Hello BHPians,

Any inputs on should I go for W8 or W10? is W10 worth the premium of 1 lakh? Basically its like I will be paying that premium for sunroof because I dont fancy Start/Stop button that much but I would definitely love having a sunroof provided its completely leak-proof. I need info on cleaning the car interiors as they are completely beige what's the best method? How often would it be? And if someone can share the approx cost that would be great.

Thanks in advance

If you have already decided on W8, IMO it's definitely worth paying that extra 1lakh or so and go for W10. Sunroof is a big NO in our city conditions but you can surely enjoy on highway drives, everyone fancy having that. I don't think you would get any issues with sunroof, even if you do it should be covered under warranty. Among other things I believe power adjustable driver seat and reverse parking camera are very handy for vehicle of this size, rest are more cosmetic. Here is the list of other features you would get only in W10 listed by fellow BHPian.

The following are exclusive to the top-end W10 variant:
1. Sunroof
2. Logo projection lamps on ORVMs
3. Push button start-stop
4. Keyless entry and Smart key
5. Voice messaging system
6. Brake energy regeneration
7. Electronic steering lock
8. Power-adjustable driver seat
9. Window chrome lining
10. Illuminated scuff plates
11. Sporty Aluminium pedals
12. Reverse parking camera with dynamic assist
13. Driver express-up window and anti-pinch

Not bad at all for 80K INR additional.

Go for w10 if you absolutely can not do without a sun roof. Otherwise w8 does make sense and has got pretty much all important features along with the bells and whistles. About sunroof, it does look classy but one needs to get it serviced after every quarter or so, to check for leakages and drainage etc. The rubber also dries up and a spray needs to be applied to keep it supple. It does cost a lac more than w8 but then another lac would get you a w10 AWD. Like mirza ghalib said 'hazaaro khwaishein aisi, ke har khwaish pe dum nikle ' . ( btw, your handle is actually my surname )

Integrating the the plastic trim atop the instrument cluster is definitely a plus. That is something which has started rattling for me already (a year old vehicle).

It was rattling for me from day one itself
Yes the new plastic trim is hard plastic, doesn't make any kind of sound even if you press it with your hand

@Prash, Thanks bro. IMO, the fog lamp insert should be body coloured.

Prash, do you have more pics of w6 ? Difficult to make out if the one you posted was a w4 or w6 ? Some pictures of interiors, exterior and side shots would be great to compare the appearance with w4 and w8

As per the brochure W4 doesn't have chrome inserts on the front grill and W6 doesn't have fog lamps but it has the chrome inserts on front grill. So from the pics posted by prash the tuscan red is W4 and dolphin grey is W6!
