Came across this XUV on olx. I must say that it is definitely looking much better without all that excess chrome-work. What say guys?

Re: Mahindra XUV500 facelift revealed in spy shots EDIT: Now launched at Rs. 11.21 lakh

Here are few pics of the new XUV 500. The showroom said new alloy design might be available soon. They also confirmed no ICE upgrade for new XUV 500 yet. The stock quality is not bad.

First two tankful to tankful gave FE of 14.5kmpl and 14.1 kmpl, second one being in expressways.

It pulls very very nicely. In 6th gear at 2000 rom, speed is 100+kmph. Keeping the rpm within 2000-23000 rom, although there is no run in instruction in the manual. Start stop works great, but not sure what impact it would have on the turbo.

Recently in my visit to Mahindra dealership I also saw the interior lighting accessory with light and color selection using smartphone App. , interesting to see such innovative accessories developed by Mahindra.

Is it the lounge lighting kit your talking about? Its mentioned in the accessories list for about 2530 Inr, How many colors did you get to see? and can you change the colors only with the app?

thanks!

Did you get W4 or W6? If W4, then seems like interiors are same for W4 as well vs in the earlier XUV W4 was different in terms of plastics.

Thank you! Expect delivery in 2 weeks.

Frankly, W10 is so loaded to the gills that I can't think of any accessories! I am getting Mud guards, Mats, Anti-rust coating from the dealer for free. I don't like having the front and rear guards on my Car. The side step makes the side profile look droopy, also in my experience they are more of a hindrance than help. I enquired about parking sensors in the front, but the dealer says he hasn't come across an installation on W10 yet, he did not give out a very confident vibe, so have backed-off for now.

Suggestion on accessories are welcome

Thank you! Sunset Orange was my other choice. However, I keep my cars for a long time (my Baleno has completed 9 years), am not sure how well Orange would age.

Ex-Shroom: 1585407, IDV: 1506137

I tried to talk my way out of paying the Depot charges of Rs 3700 /-, but did not succeed.

Congratulations sumithb! I was told the front and all round sensors have issues and is still undergoing R&D. Good you backed off.

May i ask which is the insurance company. My IDV 95% in Bangalore for W6 is around 11.9 L and the best quotation I have got so far is 38K(ICICI Lombard, New India Insurance, HDFC Ergo)

Thank you! The insurance is from Future Generali. I had a quote from ICICI Lombard for Rs 37450. However, Future Generali offered a cover of Rs 50K per passenger (in our case 7) that Lombard didn't.

HDFC Ergo was Rs 42,500 and TATA AIG was 45K I think.

Thanks for the info on the front sensors. Hope they sort it out. Even though I have enough parking space, the approach angle is going to be very tight.

Hei is this W4 ? Could not make out from the pics.

The long shot shows that the entire car is in the same color, what i understand is W4 is the only variant without Carbon Black strip/wheel arches etc

From the owner's manual:

"Never press the engine start/stop button while the vehicle is in motion except in an emergency. This will result in the engine turning off and loss of power assist for the steering and brake systems. This may lead to loss of direction control and braking function, leading to an accident."

It might be a stupid question, but I will ask it anyway. Why has Mahindra added 'guide lights' to XUV and not proper DRLs? I mean can't these guide lights easily be used as DRLs by Mahindra or that uses some other technology? Same with the Scorpio.

Not exactly sure, but only Mahindra may know!

In my opinion, they are the LED strips. I am sure when asked to Mahindra they will come up with some answer that says this is our new design theme across our vehicles
