They call the monthly rental a "Fixed Energy Fee" - a very misleading term, since you will be paying for the Energy (in the form of electricity) to charge the E20 as per actuals each time you plug in. (~10 Units per 70-80 km).

Also, 50K kms in 5 years translates to a measly 833 Km/Month :O.

Overall cost/km (assuming cost of electricity as 8rs/unit) = 2999/833 + (10x8)/80- = 3.6+ 1 = 4.6 Rs/Km that is insanely expensive.. Given prevailing fuel prices even a petrol hatch costs delivering ~ 14 kmpl is cheaper to run :O.

So the E2O price is really 6.5 lakhs - more like 4.79 lakhs as down payment and 2999 as EMI for 5 years. I don't really see a big drop in prices then.

Re: Mahindra Reva e2o price cut! Now at 4.99 lakh (Mumbai), 4.79 lakh (Delhi)

Yet another marketing gimmick. As zenren and adisag pointed out, they aren't doing us any favors, but finding another way to fleece their customers. Alas, people who are not smart enough will fall for this and Mahindra will never learn their lesson. The only advantage I see with this car is the size and nothing else.

I heard that they now coming with 4 door option of E20. And with better technology. I am expecting the existing model price to slash further . But who are buying now the current model will lose on resale too.
