Anywhere in India 101%(NO Exceptions) AC to keep dust and noise out

i use ac only when its extremely hot or when my girl is with me.since i smoke(a lot) the windows are usually open, and anyways th car loses power when i switch on the ac so prefer to keep it off.
actually it depends on the car,if im im the siena1.6 or nhc vtev the ac is on 100%since the cars hardly feel bogged down with the ac on.

I use AC only when its really required.... My alto is unable to handle its AC's load (800cc)... So the power really goes down when i switch on the AC... Sometimes I have to switch it off especially when going up a flyover...

AC has got another angle also.It is linked to security and safety.Whenever I am with my kids the windows are closed and the AC is on.This advoids the kids popping outside through the big windows. This is in addition to central locking. The only problem I face with my AC at night driving is compromising the visibility to certain extent because of sunflim.

Agree with Debasis. Windows up, car always locked when driving. Kids or no kids. And also one reason I never put sun film either. I do not have too much of afternoon driving, AC is powerful enough anyway and sun film makes me feel very claustrophobic, besides the visibility problem at night. The relative's corolla I drove had v-kool in front also and that also felt very bad - extremely hazy and foggy even in daytime.

Hi, I drive my Maruti 800 std. I use AC only occassionaly as it reduces the engine power. During rainy season AC is a must. But 800 is such a nice car with the AC off!

i use it almost 100%, cant manage the heat of chennai without it

100% AC on. Otherwise there is no use of driving a car :)

Jasmeet Pal

AC all the time in city. The only exception is when I drive on scenic roads, I roll down the windows just to take in the fresh air.

I keep my a/c on 100%. Never drive without it. Reasons:
(1) Cooling.
(2) Long drives never tire me out.
(2) Keeps the car interiors clean.
(3) I won't bother anybody with my ICE.
(4) I can enjoy my music way better with all the road noise blocked.

I use A/c always. Reasons are:

1. Protect interiors from dust
2. Have a pleasant temperature inside always, so that we never feel tired of driving
3. To get away from the smokes emitted by other vehicles in Chennai city traffic (al the more at Signals)

In my earlier ALTO, I had darker sun films, which in fact was a trouble while driving in the night with the windows up. However, in my new SWIFT, I have chosen Lighter sun film, so it is no problem even in nights.

I guess all the time. Besides keeping the interiors clean, helps me listen to music properly and also prevents any entry of external insects or leaves.:)

Absolutely AC all the time on for me... In a city like Bangalore to keep the unbearable noise & dust from non stop road digging out. Cannot imagine how I’d get around without closed windows around. Added advantage is you get to listen to your music with full clarity & enjoy your drive... nothing comes close!!

Yes AC is always ON and temperature set at 24 degrees. The blower speed is set according to the time of journey.

My car windows are always rolled up.

Almost never use the AC when I'm driving alone however hot it may be. I prefer a non AC environment.

However, if there is anyone else in the car, then the AC is ON 100% of the time because I don't want to inconvenience fellow passengers because of my preference (of not needing AC).

All the petrol cars we have owned (present and past) have mileage figures and pickup affected by AC but not my diesel car. Whether AC is ON or OFF makes zero difference to mileage or pickup.
