Re: Automotive Engineering Show, Chennai: July 7-9, 2015 The Automotive Engineering Show is expected to facilitate exchange of insights, strategies and technological developments enabling the industry to meet the ever increasing cost and operational challenges.
There will be a seminar focused on 'Smart Automotive Factories' on 8th July alongside the trade fair. This seminar is expected to bring together more than 100 delegates comprising of automotive OEM’s and components manufacturers.
The show is expected to give companies looking to expand their manufacturing capabilities, the opportunity to meet technology experts and get solutions on selecting the appropriate system for their plant processes according to individual plant needs. They will also get the opportunity to discover the technology developments in the industry, develop contacts and build a supplier base.
100 technology companies are expected to be present and will showcase automotive manufacturing techniques and solutions. The event will also target planning, shop floor and quality control technologies, bringing together exhibitors from the product groups of automation systems, factory control and sensors, assembly line system integrators, wielding, material handling systems, paintshop integrators, etc.
In order to keep introducing better models with better performance and value-add features within competitive price ranges, car manufacturers need to look at optimising their manufacturing processes and resources. Automating this process has benefits from improving process times to cost savings. The challenge now is to employ and upgrade manufacturing technologies that allow flexibility and can accommodate product variations and reduce manufacturing or turnaround costs. The solutions on display are expected to provide economically viable alternatives to traditional techniques.
Here's a look at some of the products that are expected to be unveiled:
Mipalloy, one of the exhibitors at AES Chennai has developed Gold Spot, a cap tip which enhances production & cut costs. According to the company, when used with up to 20% lower current setting during spot welding, the Gold Spot cap tips gives up to double the life of the standard chromium zirconium copper caps.
IFM is set to unveil its O6 wetline that can diffuse reflection sensors, detect objects without contact and assure interference-immune background suppression, even in case of highly reflective backgrounds, vapour or smoke.
Mahr Metrology India will be demonstrating its new automatic measuring machine, MarForm MMQ 150 for the testing of form and location tolerances. The company claims that this can help reduce the number of rejected parts, lower production costs and save time.
FARO will be showcasing FARO® Edge ScanArm HD, which it claims can significantly reduce on-site measurement times, scan challenging materials, and sustainably enhance products and processes.
Powertech Pollution Controls Pvt Ltd will offer pollution control technologies such as welding fume extractor, centrifugal coolant mist collector, fume killer, oil mist collector, soldering fume extractor and other anti-pollution solutions.
Other technologies:
Siemens: Live demonstration of product lifecycle management software for automotive industries
BFW: Live demonstration of Twin Spindle Vertical Machining & Horizontal Turning Centers
Omron: Showcasing new line of vision safety engineering solutions
Mitsubishi: New product - CC-Link Industrial Ethernet
Panasonic: Live Demonstration of new innovations for automotive sector
Brands such as SICK India, Bettinelli Automation Components, Blue Star, Cybernetik Technologies etc. are expected to be present as well.
