You didn't spend as much time as Maruti usually does in making the cool concept boring and totally plain.

I agree with Sushil. Maruti will never hire you as you are not good enough in spoiling a look of a car.

What you have shown is rather acceptable. It'll be worse what we eventually get from Maruti. à la Celerio.

We were shown this:[ATTACH]1433178[/ATTACH

re: The Maruti-Suzuki Ignis

Reports indicate the Ignis is code named YJC( previously code named for the 7 Seater WagonR) for India and testing of this vehicle has began.

Scheduled for a 2016 festive season launch, the Ignis is likely to take on Renualts's KWID

Between Kwid and Ecosport? What kind of segmentation is that!!
Yes, it Ignis is supposed to be in a new segment, and Ecosport is a benchmark for all kinds of compact SUVs. But Kwid, isn't it supposed to be a competitor for Alto, and is not in a segment of its own?
I agree with the above posts however - the spectacled kid will have the spectacles removed in its production version, with a nice chrome moustache.

Except the digital speedo and the touch screen HU, there is nothing so remarkable in the Kwid. The design is, however, miles ahead of the competition, full marks on that.

If the Ignis is stripped of all its gizmos, can be a perfect take on the Kwid. After the pricing disaster with Scross and the blockbuster pricing with Baleno, Suzuki should give Ignis a very good pricing IMO.

re: The Maruti-Suzuki Ignis

Records indicate, 2 vehicles imported as YJC - diesel and petrol variants .
These could be the Ignis ( code named YJC) for testing and development purpose.

Quote:
The iM-4 concept is a small crossover codenamed YJC to be positioned below Ertiga and is slated for launch in the festive season of 2016.

re: The Maruti-Suzuki Ignis

It was highlighted in last weeks AutoCar Show that Maruti is developing 2 diesel engines - the 1.5 and 1.2L.

Now it is reported that Suzuki's Ignis will come with the New 1.2 litre Diesel engine.

Quote:
This new 1.2-litre diesel engine is the three cylinder version of the 800cc that is powering the Celerio diesel. This will be producing about 70bhp of power and the 1.5-litre engine will churn about 90-100bhp of power. Maruti is adding more and more diesel engines in its portfolio as it will be for exports as well

re: The Maruti-Suzuki Ignis

Ignis is got to be one of the unappealing cars I've seen in EU. What on earth is a mini-crossover? A Celerio with raised GC is a mini-crossover? (double facepalm) Sorry about the rant, but simply can't digest the looks.

Where have you seen it? At the Geneva Auto show?

The car is not yet on sale.
