Re: The Maruti-Suzuki Ignis

Hey kp, Kwid AMT costs 4.66L on road in Faridabad.
Ignis will start somewhere around 4.5L, completely different segments.

Sir,

India is an emotional & status conscious market.
When it comes to Maruti, trust matters.
Couple of lakhs more for a brand new Maruti with lots of eye catching stuff what would the aam janta choose ?

Few years back, we had only segments like hatchback, sedan and SUV with each one having a basic variant and a premium variant.
Now in 4.0 to 8.0 lacs segment, its a jungle out of there. All having direct and indirect competition based on some parameter.

Kwid is selling well now and with Ignis coming in, the Kwid number isn't going to see any steep rise for sure. Let's wait and see Kwid numbers in Mar'17.

However, the final pricing of Ignis would be crucial.

I can't believe I am typing this, but Ignis in this orange shade is looking rather acceptable even from rear 3/4th view. Let's wait till we see this in flesh.

Variants!

Petrol: Sigma, Delta, Delta-AMT, Zeta, Zeta-AMT, Alpha and a 'Taxi' variant (w & w/o AMT).

Diesel: Delta, Delta-AMT, Zeta, Zeta-AMT, Alpha and Taxi variant (w & w/o AMT)

Alpha misses out on AMT. Plenty of variants nevertheless.

Thanks for the information, I am not sure why Maruti has left out AMT for the top end versions. Hope it makes up for good equipment across the variants.

Re: The Maruti-Suzuki Ignis

IGNIS is here!

So the wait is over. This is going to be one sweet machine falling under B segment which is perceived to set another milestone in Maruti's sales figures.

It is rumored to be launched on 8th January' 2017 and likely to be available for display across Nexa Pune on 10th January' 2017.

Updates are also available once you register on NEXA website under IGNIS section.

Source - Nexa Pune

Cheers,
Amey

A Taxi variant? Is this something similar to DZire Tour?

If yes, is the Taxi variant going to be sold thru' the so called premium NEXA network

Looks like narayans80 has spotted an SVHS model recently. Is this model for India?

Re: The Maruti-Suzuki Ignis

In the release event, MUL mentioned that there will be no SVHS for the Ignis for the time being. Maybe a future variant.

This thing looks ugly. Somehow Maruti can't seem to get their design language right. The new swift they plan to launch looks bad as well. Anyway, it will come down to price vis-à-vis features being offered to see how this fares. Not a piece that fits in Nexa, as that was marketed as Premium experience for customers. This is not premium from any angle in the looks department.
