Suzuki Ignis exterior and interior color options leaked – Japan

Doesn't it look far too much like Celerio? It's like Celerio on steroids for me.

Pretty plain jane design, which you cannot love nor can you hate!

Also, considering the stripping down the car has before being launched in India, I doubt it will be half as good as showcased here. Most certainly the alloys will have to be replaced as it would be a blasphemy to have these alloys on this car and not on S-Cross or Baleno. lol:

Considering the Maruti crazy juntaa here in India, no matter whatever stripping down it undergoes, it surely will sell. Might cannibalize Wagon-R in the process but it surely will sell.

Brochure scans of the Suzuki Ignis, has surfaced online. It will launch in the Japanese market in February.

The Ignis will offer “versatility for daily life and leisure”, with a high view point, sufficient ground clearance and capability to go on snowy roads and rough tracks. Boot volume is rated at 258 liters with rear seats up, and 415 liters with them folded down. It will be available in three variants: Hybrid MZ, Hybrid MX and Hybrid MG.

The only engine available at launch is a 1.25-liter K12C DualJet petrol four cylinder engine with 91 PS @ 6,000 rpm and 118 Nm @ 4,400 rpm, which is paired to an SHVS mild hybrid system with an electric motor that produces 3.1 PS and 50 Nm. It comes with a CVT and features an ALLGRIP AWD system as optional. Without the AWD system, the Ignis is capable of doing 28 km/L (JC08 cycle), whereas the AWD-equipped models can do 25.4 km/L (JC08 cycle). ABS and EBD come standard.

I doubt if we will EVER get Ignis in such a loaded avatar. Its a cute little hatch/CUV (City Utility Vehicle) and might do wonders. But all we will see is K10 engine and Celerio's diesel. We might get 2 airbags and ABS as option. Other features we can only dream of.

Looks cute. What Maruti/Suzuki really mess up is with the C pillar onwards. Even for such small cars, they dont seem to put an effort to make it look good.

How does it compare with Wagon-R? Is it shorter in height. I wish if they could replace it.

The car looks nice from the front but has a quirky C-Pillar and rear. I assume that in India we'll get the 1197cc engine instead of the:

I'm very interested in what this has done for the torque:

This appears to give diesel-like torque and efficiency numbers for a petrol engine. I wish Suzuki introduces this for more cars here.

From Suzuki Japan website it might well be derived that the cost of Ignis would well be similar to Swift. Base variant of swift is slightly cheaper than that of Ignis with similar engine, dimensions and features.
Similar pricing for India?

Also, from various photographs of Ignis, i understand that it looks good from the front. I hope the rear not goofed up. There are no pictures of the rear or the rear quarter view.

Is it only me or does the design look really dated? Would have loved if Suzuki had adopted a more contemporary design for the car. The current one looks like a throwback to the nineties.

While the front design looks pretty decent and likeable, the rear is a love it - hate it design.

Looks spacious on the inside though!!
