Re: The Maruti-Suzuki Ignis

Spotting Ignis is pretty much standard affair in Gurgaon now. Saw one just yesterday in Old gurgaon. By the camouflaged looks, it doesn't look good. My take.

Re: The Maruti-Suzuki Ignis

There is too much metal in the rear, but it looks good in white. Wonder what will happen to the KUV100 once this launches in India.

Re: The Maruti-Suzuki Ignis

I don't like the Ignis, especially the Side & Rear. This will sell, Styling won't be a deal breaker for many.

If it has Good Interiors, Features, Decent Boot, Spacious Cabin, these are enough to entice buyers. Other bits like Fuel Efficiency, Aftersales won't matter much because Maruti already is at the Top on those departments.

What I wish though is a 1.3 Multijet in either 75/90 BHP output depending on weight of the car. But Strictly not that ordinary 800cc engine (I know Maruti won't offer it, but going by thier "Best in Class" FE tag in mind), they might change their mind.

I am keen on the Ignis CVT provided it is priced well, also Black would be better to hide all that bulk.

Re: The Maruti-Suzuki Ignis

My brother came across this news regarding Ignis, the India bound Ignis was showcased at Bogota Auto Show.

http://indianautosblog.com/2016/11/m...to-show-248523

I also had an opportunity to speak to the owner of Maruti dealership here, and as per him, Ignis will be launched in early January with deliveries starting in February. Baleno RS might come with launch in March followed by deliveries in April.

Re: The Maruti-Suzuki Ignis

saw a camouflaged Ignis yesterday in Gurgaon and must say, it looked quite underwhelming. It was shod with puny tyres (165s at best) with high sidewalls, and in terms of size didn't look much bigger than a wagon r- definitely smaller than the ritz.

Yes. The dimensions of this car, as given by various car sites are comparable to KUV100, and thus, is smaller than the Ritz/Swift or other B2 segment cars.
This car is planned to target the masses who are looking for SUVish looks in a small car, something like the Kwid or the KUV100. With love it or hate it looks instead of regular neutral Maruti looks, if it manages to capture attention of enough public, then with Maruti's sales network reach, it means the end of KUV100.

Zeta
This will be a very decently equipped variant which will get auto climate control, telescopic adjustable steering wheel, follow me home headlamps, push button start/stop, height adjustable driver seat, alloy wheels, front fog lamps, Auto dimming IRVM, rear wiper-washer, MID and leather wrapped steering wheel in addition to the features available in Delta variant.

A few reports indicate the 1.0L boosterjet too will be offered in Ignis for India ( Car advice too reported the same for the Australian market.)

OR - They might offer 2 petrol variants with boostejet in the top most AT variant!

FE reports the same,
Quote:
is expected to be powered by a 1.0 litre Boosterjet three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine. The new Boosterjet petrol engine will develop around 110 hp of power and likely to be paired to a five-speed manual unit. There are speculations on an automatic gearbox to be available for this engine option,

[/b].
While the features for the variants are almost the same as the corresponding variants of Baleno, the Delta variant seems to be missing the Automatic Climate control and rear wiper.

I hope Maruti does not carry forward this change to the Baleno as well.

While a 50k price difference between Ignis and Baleno will make them appear from different price segments, there will not be significant difference in EMI terms. In this case the Ignis will to Baleno like what Ritz was to the Swift.
