Driving the Kwid is a fairly good experience. The motor is responsive and the car is quick to get off the line. But it's an engine that's tuned for low to moderate speeds, so it does not really love being flogged too hard. When you're going up steep inclines with a couple of people in the car, you'll realize that you'll need to shift down the gearbox often. Now this is actually at par with the segment, but the Kwid easily fools you into thinking that it's a larger car with a more powerful engine. The motor itself has been tuned more for mileage than outright performance
That seems to be the reason behind all the negativity in a couple of recent TD reports. Infact, almost all media reviews mention the incline issue but they all just suggest to raise some rpm & move on. Just like what we all do with 800cc motors.

The only way to put an end to this power struggle is to test all the 3 cars(alto, eon & kwid) on same slope, load & gearing. After reading these posts, hopefully the TBHP review would address that.

Regarding the all cash payment, aren't any income tax issues involved? I heard that if the payment is more than the annual taxable income mentioned in your latest return you might be under scanner.

I too have heard this, but the version narrated to me was, if you go to a higher segment car, say Swift the cash payment should be less. It can be either loan or exchange to cover the remaining.
But as far as you are doing things right, you have nothing to fear.
You need not go for a loan just because some bank guy or showroom guy gives such statements.
If you are doubtful please get an expert opinion from a tax advisor about arranging funds on your own.
