Oh, how I want Acural TL (based on European Accord) to be in India! That car is the most 'practical' luxury car.

I am not sure how Honda might position it in India. The dimesnions are smaller than Accord, however Honda should sell it either at same price as Accord or slightly higher as a more driver oriented car.

What cars do you thinks should be sold here in India

In most of the threads on this forum you will find that we somehow
get into a debate, talking about a manufacturers inactiveness in the country, its wrong placing of the cars, improper exploitation of segments etc etc so i have come up with this thread to know which cars do you think are compatiple for indian market, which car in the respective company can strengthen its position in the country
(Please understand that this thread is not about what we like to see sold in india, its about which car you feel will stratagically do well in the market or will catch an unexploited segment)

Here is my list....

1) Nissan Altima Coupe ( 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe - Nissan USA Official Site ) -Any car with the Nissan VQ series engine in it. (Rated by Ward's as among the 10 best engines in the World, 12 years in a row!!) - I used to own a Maxima with the VQ 3 litre engine. It was a blast.

2) Lexus GX470 ( GX | Overview ) - A high-riding SUV with a solid feel that surrounds you with leather and bird's eye maple wood interior. Bullet-proof reliability of Toyota.

3) Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 ( Ford Vehicles ) - I drove a Plain-Jane V6 Mustang and that car handled nicely and emitted the right kind of exhaust sounds. Can't imagine what the GT500 would be like!

4) Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works ( MINIUSA.com ) - You could actually make a u-turn on a 2-lane road just like a go-kart. It will mange Indian traffic nicely while putting a silly grin on your face every time you get behind the wheel!

5) Nissan Quest ( 2007 Nissan Quest Minivan - Nissan USA Official Site ) - There should be a law against minivans this sexy . It has the same VQ 3.5 litre engine as the Maxima and Altima. Top speed.... 126 miles/hour ( 202 kms/hour ) Insanity!!

Supersyn,

The Acura TL is a completely different platform. My brother-in-law owns one and it's a great car... First car to have a DVD based audio system.
There is actually a souped-up version for this year called the TL Type S.

The European Accord is actually the Acura TSX, still a fun car but, smaller and not as upscale as the TL.

Can we have these cars in india please ?

Hi Friends ,

We all will agree that we have so many types of nice cars in india today and we all are certainly enjoying the choice that we have today compared to premier padmini and Amby days. But recently when my wife wanted to buy a car I did not find any which can suit her requirements well and hence this thread. I am sure there are many others with specific requirements as we all are getting very demanding and choosy. So i started thinking over and thought of sharing them with you all.

Please note the car I imagined for my wife and feel should be produced as below as many other women would love it , do let me know your comments friends.

1) Type A : Specifically for Girls and Ladies

Possible Manufacturer : Maruti / Tata / Hyundai

Car details and features

Body Size , type and shape : Hatch ,appx. 10% smaller in size than the Alto

Outer appearance : cute and animated like , distinctive head lights.

Bonnet : End to be strictly visible for driver.

Parking sensors and help : Absolute must.

Color : Totally new type of colours , possibly bright ones like the nano yellow one

Engine : Diesel only

Steering wheel : small and powered one

Transmission : Auto only

Suspension : Soft

Tyres : Tubeless / run flats

Interiors : 2-3 colour options to match body colour and decent place for handbag / purse under the seat , lots of small cubby holes , space for glares , big rear view mirrors , child lock for doors , mobile charger , hands free kit for mobile in sync with music system ,easy to clean upholstry , key less entry.

Drivers seat size : Reasonably big

Re: Cars that should be in India?

Them muscle cars. Yep those proper four door everyday American muscle cars deserve to be enjoyed here too !

I wouldn't mind seeing a Day-Glo green Alfa Romeo too in our streets once in a while.
Cars that should be in India?-123-da-1.jpg

Subaru Lineup !
Cars that should be in India?-2020subarus.jpg

Proper big American SUVs like the Suburban, Yukon, Escalade etc. basically could be the next step after the Innova here, to be chauffeured in.

Mazda lineup. They too have some brilliant looking cars.

Last but not the least, proper pickup trucks. For now Isuzu is the only relief. Hope we can see these beauties too in action here.
