Re: Scoop! Next-generation Audi A4 caught testing in India

Spotted 2 Audis at Prabhadevi Yesterday. There was a ton of black tape used to mask the fine lines just above the door handles (Pic #6).

Reg No:668 has a single exhaust while #672 had twin exhausts. The wheels (Pic #7) of Reg no:672 were also a new design that I've not seen on an Audi before. With huge rear discs...

Audi are swapping their Temp registration plates between vehicles. In previous photos on T-BHP #668 had twin exhausts, which are not visible in the current vehicle.

BTW, both of the cars had dashcams!!

Re: Scoop! Next-generation Audi A4 caught testing in India

Some of the design elements (esp. the tail-lamps) look nice, but the entire design looks too...erm....Fluidic, what with the crease overload. If this is a production-spec car, I hope they at least lose the chrome wrap-around lining before launch.

The good bits will be under the hood though, I hope India gets the 3.0 TDI mated to the slick DSG.

Re: Scoop! Next-generation Audi A4 caught testing in India

Audi has taken the covers off it's next-generation A4 sedan. The A4 will be launched in India during the first half of 2016.

Quote:
The new A4 sedan has the best drag co-efficient in its class at 0.23, says Audi. The front sees the new Singleframe grille and optional LED or Matrix LED headlights with dynamic turn signals. While the new A4 measures longer than the previous model at 4.73 meters in length and 2.82 meters in wheelbase, the overall weight has gone down by 120 kg, thanks to “an intelligent material mix and lightweight construction”.
To outline a few technologies of the new A4, the sedan is now equipped with a new MMI touch interface with an 8.3-inch screen, Audi’s Virtual Cockpit instrument cluster with a 12.3 inch LCD, a smartphone interface, a Bang & Olufsen Sound System with 3D sound, an Audi phone box with wireless charging, and a head-up display.
Coming to the engines, the most frugal model of the new A4 has CO2 emissions of only 95 g/km. The engine options consist of new generation four-cylinder TFSI engines, four-cylinder TDI diesels, and range-topping six-cylinder TDI diesel engines with a maximum power output of 272 hp. Overall fuel consumption has improved by 21 percent.
The new A4 will offer three transmission options – a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed S-Tronic and an 8-speed tiptronic gearbox.

Yawn, looks like the old one. Under the hood, it might be different though

Re: Scoop! Next-generation Audi A4 caught testing in India

I prefer the new look, it's sharper in every angle and a bit bold and sporty than the present model IMO, and that blue shade is complementing the looks really well.

Re: Scoop! Next-generation Audi A4 caught testing in India

Looks dated already, more like a facelift than a new generation. Only the interior are a big step up.

However, this is no match for the C-class.

Audi A4 in Mumbai sans camouflage

Hello all,

Caught a couple of rear end shots of an Audi A4 in Mumbai, driving around Marine Drive. The car had no camouflage at all and was badged at the back, but not at the front. The taillights look like non-LED units, although I may be wrong.

Unfortunately, couldn't get a good photo from the front. Responsible driving means I had to quit camera duties! What I can say about the front, is that the daytime running lights look sharp, somewhat like a "<" sign and turn off when the indicators are on, as in other Audis. I also noticed an absence of fog lights in the front.

Cheers!

Re: Scoop! Next-generation Audi A4 caught testing in India

Spotted the same A4 doing the rounds on the Eastern Express Highway. Found the rear a bit meh, the alloys were imminently forgettable, but I loved the LED's. The front is a step up from the current gen A4 in my eyes.

Re: Scoop! Next-generation Audi A4 caught testing in India

BMW and Audi are no longer offering 3L engines on a sedan and are trending to offer even smaller engines than 2L. 2L seems to be the largest engine available on the german sedans going forward. Looks like eventually 3L engines will be made available only on the SUVs.

Globally, trend is for high output low capacity engines since car taxation is based on emmissions

Probably OT - In that case, i'am wondering why did BMW stop offering the performance re-map kits ? IMO, BMW should atleast offer it for the 320d if not for the 3L variants. Not offering performance remap or performance variants leaves enthusiasts with very little choice to choose from.
