Please reconfirm if the Vento was a 1.5 TDI DSG and not the 1.2 TSI. The TDI DSG was launched during September 2014.

A car purchased during September 2013 wouldn't need the extended warranty since it has the standard 2 year warranty which hasn't expired.

2015 Volkswagen Vento Facelift : A Close Look

2014. He was one of those early birds to book a diesel automatic which he used to rave about as at that time only other option for diesel auto was verna. I think he booked it septemberish something.

But I am sure he had to pay something out of his pocket. He got the car with extended warranty fearing the cost of ownership at the time it was delivered.

You hit the nail and got me confused. I am extremely sorry guys for posting a simple wrong info. Just called him up and enquired it is indeed a VENTO TSI 1.2 DSG booked in September October ish 2013. He was contemplating buying verna diesel automatic as it was the only available diesel automatic at that time but bought this. And that too got me confused

Sorry again as I got confused between TDI and TSI.

He indeed has paid some out of his pocket despite warranty and extended warranty as the dealership has its own way to coax customer to pay something. Will post the scanned bills by next week or so when I meet him.

Re: 2015 Volkswagen Vento Facelift : A Close Look

TD-ed TDI MT today. Of course, there's hardly any difference to the drive. The big news :

The comfort line comes with all-black interiors and ACC making it to a lot of tastes.

The boot also opens, not just unlocks, with a long press of the key fob.

HL is 13.55 on road including the Extended Warranty. CL is 12.75. This is in Bangalore.

The SE said 4 weeks for any color. Might go for the CL just for the black interiors. Also would like to take a look at the S-Cross before that.

Re: 2015 Volkswagen Vento Facelift : A Close Look

Yeah. No chromes on the CL. I'm always not a big fan of chrome. Checked out the Cross Polo interiors, should be similar except for the chrome. The SE was a little confused whether CL had ACC or not. Had to verify that from the website. The Hosur Road showroom only had HL on display.

Unable to attach the price sheet. Sorry for that.

Will list the same for Diesel Variants ( on road Bangalore) :

TL - 11.4
CL - 12.75
HL - 13.55

CL AT - 14.1
HL AT - 15.05

All prices are inclusive of extended warranty which is worth 18k.

The pricing looks to be on the higher side, but then VW believe s in keeping price at one point and then give heavy discount of 75k to 1lac thus making the price look reasonable.

But, on flip side heavy discounts make it feel like some desperate sell out.

Why can't VW price it lower in the first place itself?

Re: 2015 Volkswagen Vento Facelift : A Close Look

The pricelist in Chandigarh, before and after the facelift

A quick comparison of the AT variants, CL and HL between TSI and TDI DSG, the summary:
CL TSI is cheaper after the facelift? Is that a typo?
HL TSI is 16K expensive...

CL TDI DSG is 8K expensive...
HL TDI DSG is 38K expensive?

Wonder why there is so much difference in the same trims between petrol and diesel? 22K?

Here is the thread on Polo GT TSI, probably the most sold car with DSG DQ200 in the last couple of years.
AFAIK, this "jerking" issue is somewhat like a characteristic of dual clutch transmissions (DSG, DCT, whatever), experienced more at certain "critical" RPMs, as the box goes into the preselected gears. I guess its a matter of the driver having to "learn" how to use the DSG, or more so, the DSG having to "learn" the driver's style.

Re: 2015 Volkswagen Vento Facelift : A Close Look

Hi,

I went to dealer last week to see changes in 2015 facelift and drove 1.5 TDI just to compare this with 1.6 TDI which I had driven previously. Since this test drive was short I did not notice any difference between 1.6 and 1.5.

I had read a lot about DSG so I thought I should check Vento TSI as well. Dealer did not have Vento TSI and instead offered test drive of Polo GT TSI. I had never driven automatic before this , hence my expectation was nil.

After this test drive I have been trying to compare Vento TSI CL vs Vento TDI CL.

1. Difference in cost: TSI is around 13k cheaper then CL TDI
2. Maintenance : I am not sure if there will be any diference
3. Fuel efficiency: TDI will be more fuel efficient but saving would depend on usage per month.
4. Resale value: I plan to keep this car for atleast 6 to 7 years hence I am not too worried about resale value
5. Driving pleasure: This is subjective but I found TSI better then TDI Manual.
6. Reliability: I have seen mixed review about this.

I had made my mind to buy CL TDI towards the end of the year but now I am confused between TDI manual and TSI. I did not consider TDI AT since this is beyond my budget.

I had prepared following price sheet to compare old price (01/01/2015) vs price of facelift (23/06/2015). I thought this might be useful to others, hence sharing it here

Note: Please note this price list is for Bangalore

Re: 2015 Volkswagen Vento Facelift : A Close Look

I test drove the Vento 1.5 AT yesterday and must admit that the convenience of the DSG AT is too enticing to ignore. I particularly chose to drive during the evening rush hour on Sankey road in Bangalore.

Now, with the Jazz disappointing with a 1.2L CVT and the S Cross missing the AT option, I thought a TD of the Vento would do well to help me make an experiential decision. I must say, I ended up with another strong prospect on my shortlist.

Re: 2015 Volkswagen Vento Facelift : A Close Look

The new Vento now has a 4th way of opening the boot/tailgate!

1. Using the switch on the door card.

2. Using the keyfob.

3. Using the keyhole.

4. Using the soft-touch switch between the number-plate LEDs:

Previously, there was nothing there:

Re: 2015 Volkswagen Vento Facelift : A Close Look

Hi,

Has anyone seen Vento CL 2015 facelift? When I visited dealer last time, they did not have CL in display but SA told me that steering of CL has chrome insert and does not look bland like the pre-facelift version.

Regards.

Re: 2015 Volkswagen Vento Facelift : A Close Look

The guys at Elite seem to be a confused lot when it comes to specs. I had to tell them that there these features which are listed on the website. I don't know how it is elsewhere.
