Is it just me, or does the Altroz look really small in front of the Harrier?
Maybe it's the angle too.

I think this colour look reasonably good here. Guess sunlight has a role to play. The spotlights in the Geneva Motor show probably made it look a little more washed out.

This is one of those cars which I liked more in the disguised form than in the revealed form. To me the car, atleast from the pictures, looks more like a concept car design from the early 2000s. Definitely my least liked Tata design along with the Nexon.

From that distance and angle it looks like Tiago on steroids. Hoping to see some close ups as till now I am not impressed by what I have seen.

And why Dubai launch. It's an Indian car made for Indian market. Should have launched it here in some metropolitan city.

Looks like in terms of dimensions, it's between Tiago and the Jazz. Knowing Tata, they'll scoop out as much space as they can. All that needs to be seen is what engine/gearbox combo they get here. With their recent launches, this is one department where they've not goofed up. Hexa, Nexon, even the Harrier has a good engine/gearbox combo. Does anyone have more insights into this? Is an automatic planned?

Well, from what I can see from the pictures available so far, it looks like a Nexon without stilts. Not a bad thing at all.

I think I read somewhere today that the engine could be the one from Tiago JTP, churning 114 horses. On the transmission front, one can only hope that they provide a DCT/TC and not AMT.

re: Tata developing a premium hatchback, the Altroz. Edit: Launched at 5.29 lakh.

Altroz top variant spied.
Quote:
The upcoming Tata Altroz premium hatchback was spotted testing on the outskirts of Pune earlier last week. The prototype is a top-end variant of the Altroz that featured the large floating touchscreen multimedia infotainment system and 16-inch alloy wheels. Although not seen here, the test mule was also equipped with a large MID, similar to the one found on the Tata Harrier.

The Altroz test mule features projector headlamps with LED/Xenon lights and LED tail lamps. Showcased at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, it will be the first product to be based on the modular ALFA Arc platform and the second product to carry the IMPACT 2.0 design philosophy.

re: Tata developing a premium hatchback, the Altroz. Edit: Launched at 5.29 lakh.

Sources are confirming that Tata might launch the Altroz in it's 1.5L diesel avatar first, with the petrol scheduled to come later.

The 1.5L oil burner in it's detuned version is expected to pump out 93PS of power and 201Nm of torque.

The Altroz will be pitted against the Baleno and the i20, but pricing is expected to be aggressive against it's in-segment rivals.

Looks like the rear doors' handles shall be on the quarterglass instead of the generic position like the MS Swift. I'm personally not a fan of that placement.

I find this design from Tata quite impressed. The rear catches my attention with a large blacked-out panel which houses the glass area as well as protrudes tail-light section.
