Can anybody please tell me when the media drive for the Altroz is supposed to be held and when can we expect some sort of first impression about the same?

I wish that the car lives up to the class of the invitation. The new cars in the TATA line up has been TOP CLASS in the looks department. I would plonk my monies on the Harrier if only the interior quality was a couple of notches higher and the niggles were sorted out.

re: Tata developing a premium hatchback, the Altroz. Edit: Launched at 5.29 lakh.

Worryingly for Tata Motors, November sales has collapsed again from the highs of October.

It sold 10,400 units against 13,169 in October and 16,982 last November. While others have recovered and new players are grabbing marketshare, Tata is still slipping.

It really needs a miracle in the Altroz, it has the potential to bring in the numbers.

It is surprising that the launch is tomorrow but we don't have any leaks detailing the variants and features list yet, unlike other launches in recent times. Has Tata maintained such secrecy or people are just not interested?

Is this just a showcase launch or prices will be revealed as well? I hate this latest trend by manufacturers and hope Tata Motors do it the old way.

Can help manufacturer price based on market reaction. Also helps manufacturer maintain the hype before it gets stolen by i20.

re: Tata developing a premium hatchback, the Altroz. Edit: Launched at 5.29 lakh.

Looks like Altroz is going to be compete with Baleno, i20 and Jazz. All these cars have automatics. As per the publicly available information till now, the possibility of automatic variant announcement in today's launch is very remote. With such competing cars having automatics ready, what is rationale behind Tata Motors not launching automatic right away? In the hatchback segment, haven't automatics caught up still that they have most likely decided to defer it?

I completely second this. With the mass market car manufacturers slowly moving towards launching high speed dual-clutch gearboxes, TATA should have atleast launched the Altroz with a torque-convertor. Forget the SUV’s, even hatchbacks customers are now shifting towards auto-boxes. I feel this move by TATA of not launching an auto-box will surely hit them hard. Unfortunately they haven’t learned from the mistakes they did with the Harrier.

It's not the launch, its time media drives that is happening this week.
Usually, launch would happen within 45 days of this event.
