Hearing from a fairly reliable source that the Altroz will be launched in only MT variants.

The AT variant(s) will follow a few months down the line.

Any idea when the official launch could be?

I also remember GTO posting sometime ago that the media drives have been scheduled.

@GTO: any update on the same?

I am eager because I am holding back my booking of JTP to see the altroz.

Thanks people

Tata seems to be interested in shooting on their own foot over and over again. Be it a 5lac hatchback or a 50L SUV, an AT variant is a must in the portfolio and especially so when you target the launch mainly for the urban market!

It means they are rushing again due to sales/marketing pressure. Hope they do not mess it up like Harrier and there is no M between that A and T.

We have been hearing that it would launch only with 1.5 diesel and 1.2 NA manual at launch, followed by Turbo and AT. Can your source kindly confirm it?

Heard from a source that Altroz might not see an unveil this month due to some reason. All media related activities have been pushed forward too!

To be honest, a lot of the honour has to go to my dealer as well. Hyson motors. Less said about their servicing, the better.

It's better they push forward media drives rather than having them at scheduled time and launching the car 2 months later when all the buzz and interest has died down and the car has already faded from public memory

What engine will they put in it?
I guess the regular Altroz will get the 1.2 Turbo Petrol from Nexon, which does the duty in the JTP Tiago, and Tata does not have any other BS6 Petrol engines, IIRC.

Any clue what type of AT would it get?

re: Tata developing a premium hatchback, the Altroz. Edit: Launched at 5.29 lakh.

Will share more info when I get it, guys.

Spotted in production guise by a CarDekho reader.

Quote:
These spy shots show it wearing 16-inch alloys wrapped in 185/50 rubber while the majority of cars in the segment like the Baleno and Elite i20 offer wider 195 cross-section rubber. A peek at the front end shows the Altroz gets halogen projector headlamps with LED DRLs.
The cabin of the Altroz can be seen sporting a dual-tone black and grey theme as shown in the recent teasers while the upholstery seems to be a monotone dark fabric. The model spied is a manual variant which also has the touchscreen infotainment display.

I believe the correct tyre size is 185/60/R16.
